Some deals from Fingerlab

  • Bargain of the month.

  • Indeed so. Good apps.

  • I'd buy them all, if I didn't already have them. Finger labbin' good.

  • So you don't like Musyc? It is on sale too, from same dev. Still waiting for the midi on this one myself.

  • Still love the squelchy fx of DM1 on the chimey xylophoney stuff...

  • Great deals. Just great.

What's the difference between Musyc and Musyc Pro?

  • Thanks for the heads up.
I purchased DFX on my iPad mini 2 this morning but it’s not showing as purchased on my main iPad. They normally sync ok. Anyone know how to fix this? Both are running IOS11.0.3. Thanks

Musyc Pro has all the IAPs bundled in.

Ah, then Pro is on sale, but the IAP in the other one is not...apparently?

I'm tempted to get this for the fun generative aspect, but without midi I'm stuck with ET tuning which I am moving away from.

  • Just grabbed Musyc and had such a blast that I bought the full IAP pack. Works fine on iOS 11. Looks like I can write off the rest of the afternoon...

Haha! I was about say, “no love for Musyc?”, because when I went to check out the sale, Musyc was the one I picked up. I saw that blurb about full MIDI coming in the next update—OH YES PLEASE very much! But even as is, I’m going to be cutting loops from it for harmonic drone beds and ever-evolving melodies.

Got DFX, as it was updated.

I was thinking about getting DFX. How do you like the sound of the fx? Is there any external MIDI mapping?

As I was merrily browsing the deals, I was wondering if the DM1 is still worth the time in 2017? Fx being one, are there other unique features I should know about? Are the IAPs good/necessary?

For me it is purely that there are a few spooky mysterious 70sish avant jazz sounds i can still get out of it that I really like. I actually forgot about the recent iaps in it.

I just got it today and I'm impressed by the number of sounds it comes with free. I watched this video and it convinced me to buy it and discovered most of these are in it for free.

It might go up to $4.99 soon so grab it quick if you're thinking "buy" on this one.

  • It's a dollar - definitely worth that for a solid Drum machine.

  • Musyc Pro is great, sound-wise and fun-wise. Works as IAA and that's fine for me.

Yes it does have MIDI control. Sold.

What do you think? I dropped the 99 cents on DFX but have yet to get any kind of restrained, musical sound out of it. Seems mainly good for weirdness.

Yes DFX is definitely good for weirdness. I use it as an insert on the master bus for EDM style builds and breakdowns—those times when you want the whole mix to dissolve into a throbbing swirl. It does pretty good distortion, and when you get the animations moving, things can get pretty interesting. For more restrained fx, there are definitely better options out there.

I grabbed Musyc a while ago an thought it was a goofy toy. I bought Musyc Pro in the sale, and I'm really intrigued now. Axon2 has a way cooler vibe, but all I can coax out of that app is the soundtrack to a derelict dystopian factory. Which has its place.
But Musyc seems really musical. And it's easy enough to load your own sounds in.
