  • In the second picture (Ableton preferences), you will need to select the input and output in slot 3 of the control surface. It can't be "none"

I don't use touch osc but I'm sure it will appear in the drop down menu if all else is good.
Let me know if you're still having problems and I will take a look later on...

  • Tried this but no luck. Looks like it has tons of potential, so frustrating!

I took a look at the link, 99.9999% certain that the problem is to do with Live control. It hasn't been updated in 4 years while Ableton has had quite a few tweaks. The site you linked lists it under "legacy software", not a good sign! Live control 2 is the new one and it only works in lemur, do you have that perhaps?

If not you could look for another bridge between touch osc and Live or get an older version of Ableton and try to get it working. My advice is to save the headaches and go get touchable, even this will occasionally be temporarily broken if an Ableton update changes something.. even on a minor Ableton update. They do fix it and it's a great combination with Push... I think it's worth getting the IAP if you use Ableton often.

There are other apps to control Live but I can't comment as touchable has served me well over the years even with the occasional waiting for fixes.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

  • I don't think the LiveControl script works. Try the "Simple" script, which does currently work. OSC works via USB now - so if you are Lightning-to-USB connected, you should be able to make the connection. Are you running the TouchOSC Bridge on your computer? I'm guessing not, it should show up in Live's list of MIDI I/O's...

LMK if I can get more info for ya!
