Frobulator, Muckraker and Nebulizer
Just discovered these freebies... Anyone using them? Thoughts? Seemed decent enough but haven't done more than a few bloops and bleeds...

They’re pretty wild. It’s cool that they’ve left the controls kind of vague to encourage experimenting and using your ears, but I honestly forget which is which and have never kept one in the chain. Never gotten results I want to keep, but somehow I’m still hopeful.
I tried them out a long time ago and from what I remember they were extremely brutal. But now that you have brought them to my attention again I feel like giving them another shot.
I remember now what happened in the past. I got these expecting normal type delay and distortion effects, but these are not that. I was having trouble hearing the effects because I was listening for something expected, but not hearing that I turned every knob up. Not the most pleasant effect when you do that.
Now I get that these are sorta oddball effects and this time was a lot more conservative with the settings. I got some really good stuff going and was even using all 3 of these at once and still sounding really good.
I used Fugue Machine for an audio source and I think it helped to use a cleaner sound from the start. And Muckraker is like 5 different types of distortion to blend in any combination, but if you keep the knobs below around 9 o'clock position you can blend all 5 and still not blow away your original audio signal completely.
Glad I revisited these. Thanks @dvlmusic.
Frobulator is very very good and can get subtle results. The other two are way more wacky, but they’re all quality.
I use them now and again for a bit of madness. Very grateful to the dev for making them free.
i use them regularly, to make sample loops.
I'm always skeptical fully free audio apps, especially if no one around here is talking about them - most folks on this forum are fairly Vocal about the things they dig, especially if they're free.
Played with these a bit last night and I like the element of danger here. Definitely will keep these around for a bit and see if I can put 'em to use.
I’ve been a fan for a while, as mentioned above mostly to create wacky loops
All the NebMuckFrob apps are hairy and wild indeed. They are great for those of us that are getting stale with the more conventional effects, without going all the way Turnado. They’re kind of like drinking too much cough syrup with Tequila.
I have all the "standard" effects covered for the most part, so I'm looking for things that are less predictable and wacky. This fits the mold perfectly. I'm surprised that I haven't heard of them until now.
Try Strange Attractor as an effect too.
Nabbed, thanks for the heads up.
Had a bit of a play and with some moderation I think they'll be good sound mangling tools.
