Thanks for the tip. Looks similar in function to Navichord.
Interesting. I looked for a demo video but didn't find one. Does the playing surface layout scroll around or is it locked to the notes/chords you can see on screen?

Oh cool. Thanks @fjcblanco. Don't know why those didn't come up in the Youtube search I did since they seem to be hosted there.
Thanks again.
I like the look and simplicity of this, and thought maybe it'd be fun to easily connect with Logic Pro to use as a controller.
However, I just sync'd up Navichord to Logic Pro via Navichord's bluetooth setting, and was playing Alchemy within LPX within minutes.
So, what does this controller do that Navichord doesn't?
Please, don't shoot to the pianist.
Does this not have normal MIDI? All I see is connecting a Mac to this app over a network connection. No mention of using this as a MIDI controller, or Virtual MIDI, or anything else.
I bought this. Kind of interesting but not stable. Crashes a lot. Midi isn’t really working very well either.
Looks like it was only recently updated to ios11, so hopefully another update will come soon to work out the kinks. Vaguely similar to Navichord, but Navichord MUCH more powerful. However, this app is doing something different with its chord decisions.
It’s only a dollar, so I think I’ll hang onto it with hope the bugs get ironed out.
Comes with a lot of sounds. Some decent. Worth a buck for running into Logic. Haven’t tried WiFi midi yet, but I can only halfway get it working if I use midiflow to create a local network. Hit channel 16 and it crashes immediately.
FYI: Have been playing with this as a midi controller in Logic Pro X via local wifi network. It's only slightly better in this capacity. Still crashes if you try to use channel 16. Can't seem to direct specific midi channels, and it's not consistent.
If this was more than a dollar, I'd ask for a refund... but I don't want to waste a refund on just a dollar app, since it works fine if you're not trying to use midi. It also comes with several good sounds... so, for that alone it's worth a dollar.
I've sent the dev a support message asking if the midi issues were known, and if there was a fix coming. I've yet to get a reply.
It's not radically different from a lot of other similar control surfaces, but it's doing a couple of things different, and in a way that I like, ie. the way it finds the next chord change when tracing a path, and I like the long press slide up for octave shifting. If the dev fixes the midi so that it works correctly, consistently, and doesn't crash the app
it'll be worth having.
Quick follow up... I messaged the dev last night and have already got a reply. He says that he thinks a config file got corrupted when he took it to iOS11, and has pushed an update that may fix the midi issues.
Does this have MIDI in?
Yes, it's got midi in. The dev's fix/update has already come through and it's MUCH better.
(UPDATE: I can send midi into it, and can see the notes getting triggered, but it's not playing the internal sound when I do that. I've sent the dev a note about it)
There's one more issue related to midi and crashing on channel 16. What's going on is that it's off by 1. So, if you select channel 16, it's setting for 17 and crashing. This also explains, and I've confirmed, that all of the midi settings are off by 1. So, if you have Lattice set to send to midi channel 3, and set your synth for channel 4 instead, it works fine.
The dev says it should be a easy fix and he'll push out another update this weekend.
I'm glad I got it for a $1 because it's going to be fun and useful. If you like this sort of thing, I'd grab it quick while it's still only $1.
Thanks. So could I play single notes through a MIDI controller and turn them into chords with this or is the MIDI in just for showing which notes are incoming or something? The description text is very limited and just that one screenshot doesn't a whole lot either.
Hard to say... since I'm not hearing any internal sound via midi in at the moment. But, it looks like a note in, is triggering just a note and not a chord.
It's still got a couple rough edges, but the dev seems to be on the case. Try sending him a note via his website. I've got several replies so far, and fairly quickly.
Navichord is still king for this kind of controller I think, but Lattice has enough difference that it's worth having IMO.
As usual, your mileage may vary.
It's also not IAA or AB. I mentioned to the dev he might sell more of it if he adds either/or both IAA/AB
Played with this a bit more today... only using as a controller for Logic Pro. Now that it's been updated and seems stable... and now that I know that midi channel assign is off-by-one and the dev is fixing it this weekend... this is a really nice little controller. It makes the change from chords very smoothly. The octave switching is nice, and it's just got something special about it. Especially using it on pads and strings. For this use, highly recommended.
The regular price on this is $7.99 which is the same as Navichord. For mainly iOS use, it's Navichord hands down. Lots more function, song mode, universal, stable, etc. However, for controlling synths on your desktop, Lattice is kind of special... at least to me. I'm really loving it so far. If you are going to use it as I've described, it's a dollar that's easily spent. No regret at all.
At regular price, compared to Navichord... the price should likely be a bit lower considering the competition. But for a buck, it's a sweet find.
Thanks to the OP @fjcblanco for turning me onto it!
Thanks @skiphunt for the regular updates and @fjcblanco for the OP.
You have convinced me!
I haven’t tried it as a desktop controller yet but have been using it to trigger Model 15.
I really like how it works and how it can transition smoothly from one chord to another. It does nowhere near as much as Navichord but is subtly different and you can’t go wrong for a dollar (pound).
By the way, there's a new update out today for it.
Yes, there's a subtle but noticeable difference between the way Lattice and Navichord handle chord changes. I played around last night, switching between the two. I also like the long-press and slide pitch shifting.
The update doesn't seem to fix the off-by-one midi issue, but I'm sure the dev is on it.
