Potential for field recordings - ambeo smart headset
These are a bit on the pricey side but look really good for field recordings as the mics are built in to the back of the headphones and can capture audio similar to how we hear according to senny. Also found impressive they have apogee soft limiter, mic pre amp and AD/DA conversion, look like a more discreet way to capture audio.

The cool thing about this particular model is that it has a lightning connector. Previously, binaural microphones usually had stereo mini-jack plugs. This meant you needed some audio interface plugged in to your iDevice to actually use it in full stereo, or you needed to use a separate field recorder and not your iDevice.
The only possible downside to this model is you are most likely stuck using it with iDevices only, so less versatility.
I'd like to know how it deals with wind, as I'd like to use it while riding about, like how self contained it is though, wonder if the android version will enable use outside of smartphones.
