I've been away for awhile....and I *REALLY* need some advice

Due to some serious issues in my world, I have been away from the forum for a while. I am now getting back into the swing of making music again and I have a few questions for you guys. I know like always I could search through the endless posts, but I hope you guys can help...
1. I have an iPad Air 2 and I see that iOS 11 is now available. Are there any issues with updating to 11? Should I go ahead and do it? The Garageband 2.3 and Benchwerk updates (among others) seem like a good reason to...
2. I remember months ago that there was conflict between the first batch of iPad Pro 12s versus the second batch. I am in a position now to by one, should I go online and seek out a first batch 12 or am I okay to go to Costco or Best Buy and buy one brand new?
3. Is BM3 all it was hyped up to be? LOL..... I only got into using the sampler and that's its... Like I said life went crazy and I've been away.... Glad to be back!

    ...3. Yes.

  • Thanks, looking to get a MPD232 to pair with it.

But any advice on #1 or #2? Really what I'm concerned with...

    1. Yes, do it.
    2. I don't remember hearing anything about this.
    3. Yes.
  • Thanks bro... I just remember hearing some talk about the newer Pro 12s having issues vs the first round... I guess that's been worked out. Awesome...going to grab a shiny new 12 tomorrow!

    1. No remaining issues with iOS 11 for me here on the Air 2.
    2. It seems like maybe the issue with the new Pros is resolved with 11.1. If it were me, I’d hang in there a bit just to be sure before springing for a Pro.
    3. IMO BM3 is good. Not miraculous. No one can honestly answer that one for you except from their own perspective. It could be fabulous or suck depending on your own music making approach and mindset.

    Welcome back!

  • 11.1 seems so solved all audio/latency issues with my 2017 iPad 10.5 256gb

    1. IOS 11 working well on other half’s AIr 2.
    2. First batch Pro 2 10.5 still occasionally turning itself of, but situation much improved.
    3. BM3 seems to please those usung it regularly. I have it but still have not done much.
  • I'm running an Air 2 and updated to iOS 11 last week. All good, the Files app is a game-changer IMO. iPad doesn't seem any slower.
