  • Turnado is a well so deep I'm often scared to even look inside.

    • Minor bug-fixes and improvements
  • nice update :)
I wonder how long before SB convert to AUv3

    • Bluetooth MIDI Support

    Word.

  • Email them your wishes. Each time I’ve contacted them they’ve said the same — if the demand is there then it will happen.

Wow, two or three Turnados running? Intriguing and titillating! But I don’t know... kind of like how two or three wives sound nice, in reality it might just be way too much to handle?

AU is more than multi instance though, it's state saving and routing saved in hosts, multi instance is icing on the cake :)
I am hoping that Thesys and Egoist get this first though :)

Yes, Egoist as an AUv3 would be the bee's knees to end all bee's knees.

    For this week at least.

Ooh, that’s actually really nice to know. I wasn’t clear on the other advantages. Bring it on!

I think you are right, I’m used to just using one on the master bus as DJ FX, but a few more instances on send busses suddenly sounds very interesting...

That does seem to get overlooked quite a bit. I suppose multi-instance is the obvious game-changer, but the other features you listed are so convenient and keep me from building my setups from scratch every time, which is what I was still doing until a couple of months ago. :*

  • Hell yes. Loading up beautifully and running smooth in AB3. Thanks Sugar Bytes!

Now all I need is Samplr’s update.

You need wife 11.1, if not more than 1 will cause all kinds of unexpected problems.

If I try to run more than one instance of my wife, the whole system goes down. I don't recommend it.

Dreamy sigh at the idea of multiple egos etc.

  • Has anyone noticed that Turnado has gone midi sync deaf? I can’t quite put a finger on what happened because I seem to remember taking it for a spin (possibly) right after the update but now it won’t hear ticks from any direction. I’ve updated Loopy and Audiobus betas since so can’t tell if other apps might be at fault.

I thought that link might save the day but Turnado will only link with Loopy but won’t see Magellan or ToneStack which seems strange.

Damn, and everything was evolving so smoothly.

  • I bloody got loopy state saving and turnado update all in one day and now everything is ruined!

Yep, I’ve noticed that for me Turnado itself stays in sync just fine with IAA or Link, but if I use a loop effect—which I always do—the loop will drift out of sync after about 30 seconds. So I don’t use the loop effect, no big deal right? Ugg!

Damn, and everything was evolving so smoothly.

If you consider herding 50 cats into one box a smooth evolution! Man, I thought this iOS music project would take like a week tops. The mission: set up an iPad with music composing tools for the commute. Pretty easy task on paper: watch some videos, pick a good sequencer and a couple good synths, plus some performance fx = unlimited touchscreen creative freedom and a new finished song everyday = get rich and quit my day job. Well, off I go and purchase a new 10.5 inch iPad Pro... 3 months later and I don’t have to tell you the rest of the story. Head ache after heart ache trying to get everything glitch free and in sync.

But we are almost there brother, don’t despair! The golden age of unlimited touchscreen music creation freedom is just around the corner; hearken and take heart, for it knocketh at the door even now!

    Yep, I feel ya brother

Yet, I just rolled it back to 1.3.3 and I’m on the saddle again. Yes I need to tap to launch but all good apart from that. It is in fact much closer to perfection that I’ve ever been on IOS. =)

  • Trying to produce music exclusively on iPad means finding and picking out what really works together, and often throwing out the wonderful apps that only work well standalone.
You can do a lot already, but you'll get grey hair (or lose them ;) before you replicate anything close to your complete Win or Mac production environment on the iPad.
For me, its standout charm is still the immediacy of capturing ideas.
If you check out what was posted on other forums a few years ago, iOS doesn't have fewer issues today: Former problems fixed, but just as many new issues introduced by new features that only few apps support properly :D

Yes! I feel like if I ever get this iPad smoothly running a set of apps that make up a satisfying workflow for me, though picky as I be, I will gently turn it off and slowly back away from it, scared to ever touch it again lest I upset the delicate equilibrium I’ve worked so hard to achieve. I will certainly never “update” anything in it again. F**k all this app-gas and update lust, I’m over it. I just want a FULLY FUNCTIONING AS ADVERTISED mobile music making rig.

  • Just got an email from SB. A new, fixed version of Turnado has been submitted to Apple Store pending review. Result!

  • Ok, so Turnado sync fix has landed but the sync still isn’t working properly. Back to the old version. :(

  • Now has bluetooth support.

Yeah, not a great help with no midi sync.
