I've never won a thing in my life - aside from a few awards for design, but those were snaffled away by the corporates I worked for.
I forgot about a karate medal I won about 30 years ago when the opponent immediately kicked me in the balls and got disqualified.
Daniel-san?
First and last match for me @CracklePot
Sonic talk (via twitter) and ubk happy funtime hour (ask a question) have weekly competitions. Both very entertaining podcasts
The prize on sonic talk are from izotope and ubk happy funtime hour is not quite weekly and the prize is a vst from kush audio
My state’s 1994 Blockbuster World Video Game championship. The games were NBA Jam, Sonic 3, and Virtua Racing. I lost regionals because my opponent won the coin flip and got to pick the Bulls in NBA Jam. I stupidly chose the Magic over the Kings and Richmond, banking on Skiles/Anderson’s 3-point shooting getting hot and carrying me through.
It was like a sequel to The Wizard, only if the movie was over in 30 minutes.
Me, personally? Almost nothing.
Teams I’ve been in, where most would think I’ve contributed quite a bit? Right:
I value those things mainly as learnings in life (though they DO look nice in my CV), but none of them best “my kids” or “surviving an open heart surgery (triple bypass)” along with “always positive”, but I guess that is more "living" or "surviving" than "winning".
Pretty much all of that carries no meaning though. Most of it I couldn’t dictate if I was even running for. I had fun when doing all of it (apart from possibly the surgery, but that was more the result of having too much fun for too long), as I live after the motto: if you are not having fun doing it you are doing it wrongly.
All I ever wanted to do was to be a rock star, the rest just happened along the way. I failed on the rock star part. So far. Now I don't think I even want it.
