Mostly composed and played with iPad and Internet help
Hello,
for our new album I practiced many things I learned here, thank you very much, these forums are great teaching.
I'm a French old musician playing with many other musicians over Internet since a long time (first mp3.com in 1999). This album was made from my Pyrenean sheepfold with my friend Bohdan who is canadian. Ian Shepherd (England) made the mastering. I used many many instruments and to tell the truth no song has no iPad involved (the Greek title of the album song is mostly build from Samplr for example). I also used intensively iPad sensitivity to play Kontakt's and other instruments. We also added "real" percussions, guitars, bass, double bass and brass.
Jessica made the art work and Patrick, both parisian friends I also met by the net, the street art pics of the booklet.
I'm very happy to share this album with you and get some feedback if you have time for.
I'll also try to answer technical questions about how iPad instrument was involved in our studios.
Peace,
Thierry

Wow, very impressive and well done!
Thank you very much for sharing.
How have you used the iPad's "sensitivity" as you say?
A special keyboard with different vertical positions for different velocities?
Hello rs2000, thank you.
I used very much Animoog keyboard to play soft synths, sampled instruments and even percussions and also Chordpolypad to play... chords. Geoshred and thumbjam are also very interesting as original keyboards.
I also used the iPad as a guitar or sound fx stompbox (essentially with the fabulous Flux:fx ... well I'm an Adrian Belew' fan )
you're playing well together, distance doesn't seem to influence the groove
Interesting mixture of lounge and even some soul elements with electronic soundscapes.
But imho tracks 1-3 are significantly 'weaker' in melody, groove and sound - better be moved to the end of the list. You may tell by the number of plays and the decrease curve
Thanks for this foxy (tricky?) advice Telefunky
The phrasing of the the vocals really stand out. Mostly they are what make these tracks unique and memorable to me.
All vocals from Bohdan (as well as lyrics).
Nicely done @Kitusai. Influences I heard: Peter Gabriel, as you said Adrian Belew and Steely Dan vocal phrasing. I enjoyed this.
Donald Fagen vocal style indeed.
Thank you Ben (I love Peter Gabriel) and Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr! I know very bad Steely Dan's music, shame on me. I'll listen to.
