Hi all, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything proper. With AB3 being slowly fine tuned I hope I will be able to build up my live set with occasional sneak peek for your viewing. It definitely is a journey but when things work it is simply amazing.
If you have any questions regarding the set up fire away etc.

Ok, so I’ve uploaded the wrong video. The right one is being processed, will post it in a mo. Sorry
Edit: fixed
I loved the wtf moment.
You can count on me with that
All fixed now, love technology, especially after a 5 hour sleep. It’s friday anyway!
nice. always like the live stuff
wish my electribe would get a bit more attention. novation have been knocking out the updates
I'm not a great fan of the sound. Every time I try to mess with the editor I end up with garbage and all of the soundpacks I've downloaded are shit on the whole. I just ended up with 5 sounds that I use and uploaded my own sample set.
Because of this I started looking at emx 2 but the lack of USB midi I'd have to get a new, not so compact keyboard with 5pin midi and probably it's own power supply to control electribe. MPK mini is easy and it has an arp which I always treated as a cereal box gift but it actually works quite well.
i looked into the circuit as a alternative but thought i'd be better off with my electribe. get some nice sounds out of it. 32 pads on the circuit was a temptation but the emx2 has 16 midi channels for sequencing other gear. it's all pros and cons. i need a keyboard-16 pads isn't enough. probably figure out some way to route it to the emx inside a daw.
think i'll have samplr revisit tonight
It’s strange because I was expecting circuit to work via 5 pin midi while triggered from a usb keyboard routed through Akai EIE in Audiobus 3. Unfortunately not. Your post prompts me to give it another try. Maybe midi pixies were at play that day.
i'm using bm3 to play the trigger pads in to modstep for recording/sequencer and midi thru back to au's in bm3. routing tooting complication o_O
yeah, i'd that should be doable. you might have to try a 101 configs to get the pixies out
Tried. Won't work neither in Audiobus nor with AUM. It will probably work with midi routing stand-alone apps or I might try one of those cheap usb to midi dongles.
One thing is sure, in the past, people running relatively simple midi configurations would swim in a sea of cables. We’re truly blessed
It's got a little afrobeat vibe to it. Cool! You should post some more jams. I'm much more interested in live performance than anything else.
Enjoyed this. Thanks for posting the video...
Bravo Wojtek.
Thanks, I'm trying to impress my drummer buddy who is into afro related stuff to play with me. The problem is that he hates playing to a click and despises quantisation. Kind of tough thing to achieve in electronic music. Good motivator for originality though.
I'm experimenting with placing transients slightly off grid and using odd time signatures to confuse him a little
Having loopy and Samplr recall all session information finally allows to focus on the music. 2 button presses: 1 in Audiobus and one in Circuit is all you need.
I'd also like to bring electronic mbira in the mix.
Mbira?
Yeah, there’s different names for different versions of what basically is thumb piano. Kalimba, Kimbala, mbira and probably more.
I will probably get one from amazon and amazify it
Ah ok. I love the sound of those instruments. I'm a sucker for melodic percussive stuff... Looking forward to the amazifinement.
Thanks for sharing. Very nice groove. The vocals add another dimension. Percussion is quite fine as is, but if you added a live drummer like you say... wow. Drum machines plus live percussionist might be tricky, but the results can be magical.
Yeah, same here. That’s why I’m persevering with Impaktor. However it is hard when there’s no app development behind it. I’m also not able to run it into my EIE interface as a combined latency (iPhone with sonic port + EIE) is too much to relax and just play.
That’s where Iconnect would come in. Maybe for Christmas.
Got it!
Nice! Congrats and looking forward to hearing it in action.
