15+ Hours On A Plane And This Is All I Have To Show For It :)
Ended up scoring this one on a long flight to Panama from San Jose.
As I drifted between sleep and wakefulness with Gadget looping I dove in and out of adding textures and structure to this piece which filled my mind with drifting expanding thoughts of beatific reverie...the darkness, the light, the floating miles above the earth searching for a destination to root my thoughts...yes...
I drifted
I floated
Music
Mind
Soul
As one
A Thin Star
And now I am rested. Composed. Reflective...and share with you all:

Great track. Sounds like you did some major sound design. Felt like I heard everybgadget in there lol
Gadget is super strong. Been my go to last couple days. Really it has it all.
@echoopera I love plane writing/composing/making up. I always mean to learn something new, but instead noodle deeply...I really like much of this. Long for vocals here and there (of course). Favorite Gadget? And did you invest in the latest?
Brilliant! What gadgets did you use?
Thanks for listening. It was definitely a learning/growing moment using Gadget. I ended up using Montpellier for the main chords, Recife for the drums and Abu Dhabi, Lexington and Helsinki for the noisy crunchy bits of texture.
It was a cool process in which i layed down the original chords and just continued to evolve it as i drifted in and out of sleep while listening to the loop.
With Abu Dhabi did you bring in your own samples? That’s the one gadget I haven’t really got into. I love Recife
No. Not on this track. It was all stock stuff.
Helsinki, Recife, and Montpellier were my guesses. That low rumbly bass reminds me of the sound of an airplane with the wind blowing all around it.
Heheh that’s awesome. Set and setting made it in to the track
Very nice
Finished a few more tracks on the return home.
A little background on these:
Upbeat Servant - BlocsWave
-Used a handful of samples and cutups from BlocsWave and performed and recorded it directly into Launchpad for this one:
Upbeat Servant-Remix
I took the best 8 tracks from Blocswave and brought them into Beatmaker 3 and sliced up the tracks to 16 pads on multiple banks and tried to bring them altogether in a cohesive fashion:
And lastly...toward the tail end of the flight and exhaustion
Saving The State
I was going through my history of Blocswave explorations and found this particular piece which has a lot of sliced up tracks and some unique sound recordings I made...I took the 8 Blocswave Tracks into Beatmaker 3 and added my little odd playing of Tines Rhodey patch on top of everything:
While these are by no means perfect, they were fun to create while my son sat next to me sleeping the night away.
It's fun to take advantage of these long flights with a little fun and focus and nice tools on the iPad.

Nice stuff. I really like saving the state!
Great music! Good job!
Nice tracks!
Do you use noise cancelling phones on the plane? I can never hear audio properly with the Apple set
