CUBASIS 2.3 - Let's Explore the WAVES L1 Ultramaximizer - Tutorial for the iPad

Waves do make exceedingly good plugins and now we can have them too on iOS which is very cool beans.

I'm starting this little mini-series of videos with the L1 Ultramaximizer

  • Thanks for showing your insights about the Waves L1 Ultramaximizer in Cubasis, Doug!
    Great clip!

    Best,
    Lars

  • Instantly one of my favourites among your vids. Technically, it’s an app that is a weapon in the Loudness Wars. But you manage to show how it can be put to more subtle use, and is therefore of interest to those of us preferring a more old school approach, while still remaining current. All I need now is ears as good as an elephant!

  • @Lars Thanks, I think it’s great and super useful too

  • I think I'll chime in and join the 'choir' wondering why the EQs in Cubasis and especially the Waves Plug-Ins do not have any kind of spectrum-analyser built-in?!(It should really be standard in Higher-End Plug-Ins, especially to Q10).

This is one feature I've started to truly appreciate in GarageBand and it's built-in EQ.

All the Plug-Ins do sound super nice so they will get some love from me, that's for sure :)

  • Has this question been answered elsewhere? Apologies if it has, but:
Are the Waves plug-ins on sale at the moment?

Honestly not sure, I don’t think so

Crazy that it's hard to find out! If these are on sale, I might jump on them; if not, I think I'll probably jump on Mood and a couple of AudioDamage plugs.

The Waves plug-ins come at their regular prices, however very cheap compared to its value and desktop derivates.
You can choose to buy them individually, or bundled including saving some more money...

You might give Waves' 25th anniversary clip a look, to see where they come from, and who is using them:

    Best,
    Lars
