I’ve had it on my list for a while now. Bought it as soon as I got the sale alert. Loaded up presets and connected it to Zeeon for roughly 5min... mad that I waited this long. It’s great! Can’t wait to make my own layouts.

i love the feel of tc-11 but the presets are kind of goofy. would love to hear tc data with zeeon, but i fear that the programming will be beyond me.

  • Get the Free TC-Performer, load up TC-11 in split screen for 5 playable panels :)

It’s not as tough as it looks. And frankly, there are so many great presets that you don’t really need to roll your own unless you want to. I did, but mine weren’t anywhere near as great as what comes with it.

Or, what I usually do is just pick a preset I like, then get into the patch settings of it to edit and customize. Doing it that way makes it easier to figure out how stuff works, than making one from scratch.

  • When TC-11 first was released, it was very difficult to program. The dev recognized that, and did a ton of work to make it more user-friendly, but didn’t cripple it at all.

If I can do it, I suspect everyone else can as well.

Maybe it's how you use it... No offense intended!

But regarding using TC-Data... You're giving good idea.. maybe i'll buy it and run it through Syntronik, Model 15 or Kauldron

  • The ‘motion notes’ preset playing iSymphonic is really something. That’s just one something. Lots of possibilities here :)

TC-11 is a bargain at this price!

@skiphunt already gave great advice regarding finding a patch that plays well for you then tweaking the synth engine (it's semi-modular). The highly complex multitouch setup is very powerful, a bit of learning is needed to get musical results making your own sounds from scratch.

There is a player version TC-Performer that works on iPhone which is well worth unlocking, not sure if this IAP is on sale?

  • @jakoB_haQ did a two part tutorial on TC-11 a while back. Here is part 1 and part 2 is in the YouTube link of this page.

  • I use TC-Data daily and at $10 it is a steal  Here is a little ditty I did with TC-Data driving Model 15, some B3 sound from bs-16i and DrumJam in memory of Keith Emerson when he passed not long ago. All played in one take thru AUM via TC-Data.

That’s one mighty cool video. I bought it without thinking, just let my emotions rule
Hope I bought the right one, tc11 not tc-data

  • I bought it though a link at Doug’s youtubepage. Think he gets some cash from the link.

  • Bought. These are incredible apps!

TC-11 is awesome! A good purchase, my friend
After having it for some years, I intend to buy TC-Data as a bonus

Do you happen to know which patch he’s using in the song?

Dude... no idea. But I remember that in the comments he said that the sequencer was essencial to get the notes right ;)

  • So I’m not having much luck. First no sound then had to reboot, then it came. But now if I want to record I can’t. It won’t activate anything. Not even looked like it’s armed for recording.

No, you're quite right. There are some nice patches in TC11, but so many of them (far too many, I think) seem to be sound effects for unmade sci-fi movies — all percussive jitters and atonal squeaks. I got TC Data, and immediately had it driving Mood and Model 15. Much better to start with a nice, sonorous patch that I like and then dial in the note parameters.

You know what... I’m buying TC data as well. I can’t use the excuse about petrol prices again this weekend, I’ll have to tell her about my drug habit

  • Yeah... just bought TC-Data through Doug's link... Anxious for the end of workday so I can play with it! lol

  • Well not a good experience with these 2 apps. I hope you all fared better then me. First when downloading the TC-11 would not play any sound. No matter what I did. So I reboot iPad and then it works. Then I try to record and as you can see from my screenshot above the label was in the way so there was no way that I could possibly initiate recording no matter what I tried. I contacted the dev and he basically told me to request refund from App Store. I asked him if he could at least help troubleshoot the problem and no reply back from him.

So bummer first time in 5 years I’m reporting a problem and request refunds on both. Hope you all get better luck.

You are right about the Record label bug. I’m seeing it on my 10.5 Pro as well. I think that’s new. Will log a bug report also.

  • Some time ago, I asked the developer if they would consider adding the ability to lock the scale/tempo when changing presets in TC-11 as this would really increase the usability in many musical contexts I've tried to use it in.
    Never received a reply sadly.
