Does it do Ableton Link...?
Thanks, I think I'll pick this up. I just watched a handful of videos on youtube. This looks like a deep instrument. I don't care about shredding, but many of the other sounds were beautiful.
No. Midi clock only.
This only affects the arpeggiator and time based FX. There’s no other sequencing involved as it’s mainly a performance instrument.
Ok, thanks.
Coolest virtual instrument on the iPad. Wonderul control surface, both for it’s own sounds and others.
Don't ask any questions just buy it. It's one of the best on iOS.
Yes, buy it if you have the slightest interest in it! Great sounds and awesome MIDI controller. I use it control synths and it gives much expression. Note vibrato, slides and glides. Wonderful guitar sounds. Thanks Jordan for the useful and enjoyable apps, and your support of the mobile music scene from its infancy. Rock onward!
The 'synth engine' in GeoShred is capable of a lot more that just string emulations and the effects are quite nice too.
It's quite easy to get 'happy accidents' when messing around with the app
Dang... i've been trying to convince myself that GeoSynth is enough... You guys are evil!
Yes, this. I turn off a lot of the effects in the presets as I don't care for them but the physical modeling is excellent.
We live, baby!
I should have bought it last year for $10, but I had already bought so much. Now here I am again.
I bought it a few weeks ago and it is very cool. I haven’t really had the chance to learn how to play it too well yet but looking forward to some quality time with it soon.
It's probably my favorite iPad instrument ever. But definitely a bit of a learning curve. Took me several weeks of practice before I could get anywhere close to what I could do on guitar. Don't expect to shred like Jordan overnight.
I haven’t been able to dive in much but between KRFT and Geoshred my kids are having a blast. The baby is even yelling when she doesn’t like the geoshred patches as she demos them.
How approachable is this app for the non-guitarist? I know JR is a primarily a keyboardist.
@rezidue Thank you for that lovely mental image.
this app is an instrument in itself ..so dont think of it as a guitar emulator... really expressive with beautifully voiced presets.. so you dont even have to tweak a lot.. also a MPE midi controller.. so can play all your favorite Garageband instruments or play 3 apps at a time .. it can do it all
Just bought it and I don’t like it. Sounds harsh and artificial. Wonder if I can get a refund now that my account has been flagged because I’ve refunded an app before.
Thanks, dude. I'll likely go for it.
@Mark B Shouldn't be a problem, but Apple only allows a few refunds before they cut you off -- in the US, anyway.
I just tried using the same method as before and it wouldn't let me. I'll just have to live with my buyers remorse
My favourite iOS instrument - very playable and expressive.
They have support for the app store. You can try you luck there. Choose iTunes & Apple Music, then iTunes Store.

Finally bought this and it's awesome just with the stock sounds. Can't wait to play with Animoog, etc!
You might try removing the effects from the presets--I was also disappointed in the sound quality until I removed some of the over-the-top effects.
Is there a blank no effects preset?
Yes, you’re right. Toned down the effects and played with the string settings and got something I liked. So I don’t feel so bad about it now.
Yes, I was going to suggest the same thing. The reverb and delay are way over the top on most presets. I think this is intended to make them sound epic stand alone, but it eats up way too much space in a mix. I scale back about 80-90% of the default settings.
Also, as you say, the string settings. Particularly, Palm Mute was an important one for me. It’s hard to know what you mean by “artificial“, but I assume you mean it doesn’t sound like a real guitar. The string settings can help get you closer there. But I don’t see it as something that is primarily intended to create a convincing lead guitar emulation (even though it uses some guitar-like metaphors like strings and frets). It can kind of create the same kind of vibe, but I see it as an instrument in itself, capable of all kinds of sounds. Keep digging beneath the surface — there’s a lot to discover!
Sweet app! As a guitarist it intrigues me big time so I’ll continue to learn it. I guess for portability on IOS we’re pretty much covered with Guitarism and GeoShred. But lately I’ve been using more ChordUp and getting great results for strumming apps like IKs guitars even Bs-16i clean guitar is pretty amazing once you run it they Audio Damage effects like the free distortion, FAC Chorus and Dubstation all into EOS2, very sweet tones coming thru.
Question regarding effects tho; I always set my pedalboard to have the volume pedal after all my drives and right before my modulation effects like Chorus, delays and reverbs. How would I set something like this in AUM? Is there a way to set the volume fader after the Distortion Effect and right before my modulation effects? I’d like to have GeoShred go into this effects chain setup in AUM. Thanks!
