Download has taken precious storage

After downloading a file for BS16i, I am now down 1gb.

I seemingly cannot reclaim my storage and simply cannot lose 1gb. Here’s what happened.

After the file downloaded, it opened BS16i, which then crashed to background and had not loaded the file when reopened. At this point checking my storage, I was twice the download size down. After deleting BS16i, I have regained half this storage, but the other half is remaking MIA.

Here’s what I’ve tried:

Deleting the offending app.
Restarting my iPad.
Signing out of my iPad and signing back in again.
Clearing the Safari History and website data.

Nothing so far has worked. The only option I know is to reload everything on my iPad from scratch.

Anyone got any other ideas? (Nothing using a computer as one is not available)

i wonder if a cleaner app like Memory and Disc Scanner Pro might do it. In my case it has cleaned out as much as a gig of ghostly shit.

Thanks for reply. Just tried a few apps. Didn’t work. Reloading iPad now.

I’m going to just reload what I use and if apps go away in the mean time, it’s just tuff. No more hundreds of apps for me - just the ones I use!

    And Gadget lol

  • I used to have a lot of offline PDF and video files in Dropbox on my iPad for language study, but then I figured there was no reason to keep them all there and waste precious storage space I needed for music, so I de-offlined them. But the storage was still almost full because of ghost files related to these files. So I used Dr. Cleaner and it cleared them all up. Might help in your case? It's similar to the scanner apps you used though, but it really worked for me.

Thanks, will keep this in mind if I encounter future problems. I’ve just reinstalled this time - all day event lol
