ZOOM U-44 and iOS 11........ :(
Just purchased a U-44 and tried connecting to my iPad pro running iOS 11via lightning/usb cable(not the newer apple usb3 chargeable). Not being recognized in Cubasis nor Auria.
Found a statement from ZOOM dated back in September around iOS 11's release saying not supported.
Anyone have any insight/info? Any luck with newer Apple USB3/lightning cable?
Thanks in advance.

I remember seeing a statement from Zoom about iOS 11, but it was about the Handy Recorder app (which they updated and made compatible later that month), not the U-44 handy audio interface. Could it be that this is the one you're referring to? https://www.zoom-na.com/news/handy-recorder-app-not-currently-compatible-ios-11
It might be a battery issue. If I don't power my U-24 with AA batteries or the 5V USB charging thing when I plug it into my iPad (Mini 1st gen), the iPad complains saying the device is not supported. Probably because the U-24 requires quite a bit of power to run which can be draining for the iPad if it's its only power source. Have you tried using batteries or the USB charger?
Another possible thing, which I still can't wrap my head around, is that iPad requires you to plug things into it in a certain order: first the device into the CCK and then the CCK into the iPad. Why that is, I have no idea.
Hope this helps and that there isn't a bigger issue at hand. Zoom would really be shooting themselves in the foot by not supporting the latest iOS.
I always use the cck3 with my u-24. Ios 11. Works great. Keeps ipad charged.
I’m waiting for my U-44 to arrive this week and I do hope it works....
I’ve been using the U-44 with my iPad Mini 4 and the newer camera connection kit adapter with the lightning charging pass through. It works well for MIDI and audio.
Are you sure you haven’t accidentally set it to the standalone D/A converter mode? (The switch on the side next to the usb/bus/battery power switch)
Best of luck!
Thanks everyone for chiming in. I just ordered the newer usb3 CCK so fingers crossed all will be well once it arrives.
Does anyone know whether this will work with an iPhone? You would think iOS is iOS, but I have seen certain things for only iPad or iPhone. Anyone know the answer to this?
No problems here with U-24 using AA’s. iPhone 6s, 10.2.
works for me too: iPad6, ZoomU44, usb3CCK
I do power the Zoom with a battery pack (Zendure)
yes also works for iPhone... some apps are iPhone/iPad specific though
no problems here on iOS 11 and ipad pro2 U-44 and CCK3
