Guitar hero type app for finger drumming?
I know about Melodics on desktop, but I'd be gifting this to someone who only uses iOS. Does such a thing exist?

I can't vouch for how good it is as I haven't tried it...not even sure if its 64 bit
Looks like it's not ios11 compatible. Thanks for the recommendation though. Anything else?

Subscription though - but some content is free. Do the free stuff
Someone only read the subject...
Ooops
Don't think there is anything else...
Just tried it. It's...almost there. The pads work well but not too much effort went into it doesn't appear.
It's more of a memory game rather than developing techniques and improving finger drum skills.
Ha yeah, didnt occur to me how dual n back apps are related to finger drumming.
This is a couple years old without an update, but the description sounds like what you are looking for:

There is a review where the similarity to Guitar Hero is actually mentioned:

Nice! Looks like this doesn't support MIDI, which would make it awesome.
Yea, like synthesia for piano where you can import your own MIDI... that'd be super cool.
Ooooh, that too, although you can edit the rhythms in app. I meant for MIDI control though, so you could hook up an external pad. I'll probably end up grabbing this anyway. I very recently got into Melodics for rhythm training and learning drum patterns so this is of direct interest for me.
I'm not sure it this does match what you're looking for...

I had a lot of fun with these ones. Sadly, they're out of the store.

Somehow, I had that MyRhythm on ipad already. Thanks for the reminder. Unfortunately, I don't think it will carry over into learning finger drumming for him well. Could improve timing though, so that's something.
Something with a 4x4 or similar drum grid would be ideal.
I don't think the touchscreen is well suited for finger drumming. Tactile feedback is necessary to get the timing consistent.
So, this one?

Your right, looks like it's not i> @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr said:
I'd partially agree with that. In this case I'm gifting it to someone that has some challenges and I've been doing reading about how improving timing helps with the symptoms they are experiencing. Wish I could loan them my Push or Maschine, but they are halfway across the world, so something is better than nothing.
Actually rhythm pad might work, gonna look into it more. Thank you
If it’s just about timing and not specifically drums why not give Magic Piano by Smule a try. It’s basically guitar hero but with piano, although you tap on dots instead of keys.
Sounds interesting. He already uses synthesisia for piano, so jogging the brain with a different configuration helps. Ultimately, we would want the learning to transfer (somewhat at least) to the ability to play an instrument so the UI modeled the way a drum machine helps. Thanks for the recommend
