  • 128 gig Air 2 here. I’m almost all audio and recording one track at a time. I’m not needing anything else right now.

  • 10.5 Pro 256 BOOYAKA

  • 10.5 Pro 256 here too. It was a game changer. I was tired of crackling sounds when using too many apps on my ipad air 2. My new one is a beast and doesn't bother me messing around.

I’m on an original ipad air. I have at least 4gb of space left on my 32gb. But when I run a lot of apps, or specific app like Drumperfect or Beatmaker 3 the audio gets pretty crunchy and crackly, you can tell it’s really working hard to process stuff
I’m looking to get a new one for christmas. but not sure where to go, the pro ipads are nice, but it it really worth the extra price tag? Or would an air 2 do the job just fine?

I had the original Air. ITS a classic, Very good to hold. I loved it.
Now I have the original iPad Pro 12,9 and am very satisfied.
Waiting for the next iPad Pro to come, jumping over the recent one.

And, yeah, the Pro is worth the price, at least the larger screen is. 4 times more memory and muuuuch quicker cpu.

  • 10.5" 256GB pro - upgraded from a 128GB Air 2 - it's awesome!!!

  • 12,9 pro, never had any issues with it,
mini 1 32gb, mosty used as a control surface togehther with my iphone 6.
sometimes i might steal my wifes air 2 if iam really going for a large setup

    ...always the latest model ;-)

  • Was using my aging iPad 2 but back in April I bought a 32GB iPad A9 for my current project. Loving it so far!

  • iPad Pro 9.7. All good apart from some odd noisy glitches in AUM, but I think that's AUM's problem because I don't have otherwise any issues, even if I max out the insert FX in Cubasis.

Have 10.5 and 12.9 Pro. The latter truly changed my expectations regarding iOS production for both audio and video. I hope the software gets serious in 2018.

  • just got a pro 12—- i’m loving this thing. the extra screen size and the processing speeds are awesome. thanks for the advice guys

  • Mini4 64gb.
Working flawless with garageband and crackling with Novation apps so I feel underpowered sometimes.
My advice: buy standalone hardware and the best iPad you can afford ATM. It’s what I did and it was great until iOS11...

  • Still rocking a 64gb ipad4 here. (iOS 9.3) It still functions surprisingly well - not a lot of issues between apps as long as I don't use more than 2-3 at once. I used Gadget for a little over an hour last night and only dipped 6% battery! But if I didn't have my iPhone 6s I'd feel worse about my iPad and probably have more of an urge to upgrade the iPad. I probably do about 50% of my music on the phone. Really Looking forward to getting a new iPad sometime in 2018 though !!

  • 128 GB model early 2017. the iPad Pro 2nd generation wasn't out yet, otherwise I would probably have taken the 10.5 model

mini 2 (32 GB) and iPad 2017 (non Pro, 128 GB) here and quite happy with it

How does the iPad 2017 compare to the Mini 2 performance wise...currently on Mini 2 and checking what upgrade options I have. Thx

haven't had any issues yet with the newer (and bigger) one, whereas the mini came to its limits performance wise when managing more than a few tasks at once

but most of all, I'm glad I have more storage now, and that I can finally have all the apps I need on a device without worrying about capacity

    https://browser.geekbench.com/ios-benchmarks/
Geekbench is a good Ressource to compare the power of iOS devices

  • 10.5” Pro 64.
Regret that I didn’t get 256GB, but other than that it’s great.

My mini2 works fine on iOS 11 as long as I keep things held back and not try to run too many apps at once. The new iPad 2017 is a huge step up when compared to the mini2. From 32 to 128 GB is a game changer for me, plus it’s so much faster and it has been very stable. Because of my experience with older machines I’ve hesitated to give it a full throttle test, but I know she can handle a lot more than what I’ve ever seen. I’m very happy with the machine and think it will serve men well.

Air 2 and Pro 10.5. The latter blows the former out of the water in every way. Highly recommended.

  • ipad air. i would upgrade but will wait for a significant increase in spec before i do ... been saying this for 3 years :D

  • Still using an iPad 2 with only 16GB. It still works but there are quite some apps which don't.
Will buy a new one, either the cheap 2017 model or that 12,9 inch model. Probably the bigger one which fits nicely above my 13 inch MBPr with the Duet app.

  • 12.9 512g...pure happiness and no more concessions

  • iPad 1, iPad 4, iPad Mini Retina and iPad Pro 10.5, Pro does the business, but so does the Original iPad 1, running ancient gems. The other two can really chug.
