  • I am on mastering right now, haven't had the chance to try the changes yet. Will check this out when I start a new track. Any chance we can get midi exports soon? Would be a nice xmas present for my beloved Auria Pro :)

:) For Xmas, it's probably a bit too late, only 10 days left... but January should be on the cards!

Is it possible to start/stop Gadget as a whole without having to send MIDI to particular MIDI channels within Gadget using Ableton link? Or vice versa? Is there any way to do this? I see that Xequence is not an "Input" or "MIDI Sender" in Audiobus, which is disappointing since then Audiobus could tell Xequence to start as well as Gadget.

  • You can:

    • Load Gadget into AudioBus with Link enabled, then use the Audiobus global transport to start and stop it, or
    • Turn Link off, set Gadget’s Sync to external, and then send midi clock to it from an external app or hardware

But not in conjunction with Xequence, correct? I guess in a way I was looking for a way to have Gadget be Gadget with however many tracks etc. I want and then trigger it with Xequence to go via Link or MIDI so that I can then use 3+ tracks in Xequence for other things, such as triggering 16 tracks in AUM if I wanted (hypothetical) or with Audiobus.

This may not currently be possible. Perhaps the only way now is to use Xequence (full) to control every Gadget channel and then could use AUM etc. to add more instruments/channels and compose everything in Xequence rather than composing part of it in Gadget as an accompaniment.

EDIT: I possibly figured out my own issue thanks to the Xequence examples. By disabling Link in Gadget and setting it to use External Sync instead, I can then add Gadget as an instrument in Xequence and choose to send Sync to it (absolute or relative). Not sure how well it works yet, but it did start and stop gadget from within Xequence.

  • @vitocorleone123 yes, you can use MIDI sync to have Gadget start and stop with Xequence. You have to use "Relative" mode as Gadget doesn't support SPP. Xequence will have Gadget start at the next (or current) bar boundary.

Thanks! Yes, I've noticed Gadget sadly doesn't play so nice as part of a "team" of apps. I only have the 4-track version of your app so far, bought last night, and am really liking it.

  • @vitocorleone123 nice to hear! Awesome update coming up in January :)

  • Anxiously awaiting the midi buffer! :# :p <3 o:)

Happy New Year and wish you and all these awesome Devs a successful and prosperous new year!
