In addition to farts or "pay to see pictures of my back yard" IAPs I'd gladly pay for fades and/or a highpass/lowpass filter (of the EQ variety not synth variety). Basic clean-up type things. Ideally 3-4 different fade shapes and 6/12/18/24 db filters.
Anyone know if there's a option to record IAA audio in 24 or 32bit ? It seems to only record in 16bit.

I believe Jonatan or another dev has said before that it's not possible to get audio from whatever app I'd running. Something with iOS that doesn't allow it...
"Actually, could you add something useful as an IAP, like a "slice and dice" filter? You select the sound, hit the button and AudioShare slices it into randon length pieces and rearranges them in random order. Great for the experimental, mash up and ambient folks."
+1
I'd like slicing by fixed intervals too not just random lengths. Auto-rearrange of slices in random order would be great too. While we're getting carried away, what would be even better is to make each slice "lockable" so those are not affected when you hit Randomize.
Agree with everyone else. Add a fart filter IAP and I'll buy. Your app has been one of most reliable and used apps ever since I bought an iPhone and Audiobus. Want to support cool and brilliant devs who listen and care about their users.
I would've paid at least $5 for this update. It's the first time I feel like updating to ios 7 and the first time I feel like adding IAA support to guitarism.
Btw for everyone who wishes there were a way to give @j_liljedahl some of your money, instead of buying imaginary fart filters just gift a copy of audioshare to someone you know who would like it
@Rhism sounds good about IAA in Guitarism and good idea about gifting Audioshare.
@mgmg4871 To be clear I don't know if I will add IAA to guitarism right now (so many other things to do first) but yes, seeing this update is the first time I've ever even wanted to do so
Well, if I cannot pay you for this update, I should buy AUFX:Dub...
...Done ;-).
I agree with al the previous posts: great update and great Dev. @Jonatan, I'd love to see a metronome in Audioshare to quickly record well timed ideas without having to start up one of the DAW apps. Any plans for this?
Maarten
Gifting is a GREAT idea! :-)
@Maarten I agree, at this point a metronome would be VERY handy! :-)
Big thanks everyone! I did consider making this an IAP, but I figured I rather have the update out than to learn how to make IAP's.. If you really feel the need to throw me some money, gifting my apps to someone is a good idea, and there's always paypal: [email protected]
I do plan to learn IAP and add some more tools to process files (fade, reverse, EQ, gain automation, maybe slice n dice too!)
Yes, I know IAA supports more than 16 bits, and adding a 24 bit option in the recorder is on my TODO, maybe even 48 or 96k samplerate, but that might be trickier since it would require the nodes to run at that rate too, and I'm not sure that would work well. At least it would eat up the CPU..
Regarding the "File Player" source in the first IAA slot: It simply uses the internal file player as an IAA source, allowing you to process the current file through IAA effects! You can do it in real-time (by pressing REC) or in a fast offline render process (the other button). It's all in the "Users manual" in the About screen, but who reads manuals??
Sounds like everyone loves audioshare and this developer, and I agree it's a great app. But out of curiosity, does this mindset of paying for *updates also apply to apps like Nave, Thor and Cubasis?, or just simply individual developers you happen to want to support. I thought PayPal was such a simple way to donate money to someone's email, is that not allowed?
I suspect the majority of the people who plan to buy this app, don't feel like most of the people on this site, lol. Just my opinion. (Then again, I probably wouldn't have flinched if I saw an inapp purchase, but maybe it's the behavior of individuals begging to be charged that I find odd.)
@Muzetech The main reason is that we find the app so indispensable, and we really appreciate the continued development of the app. Once the purchase has been made, there aren't too many ways for a developer to continue to get an income from an app, and thus there is less incentive for developers to continue developing the app. We want the fantastic development and support to continue, so we want the developer to have continued motivation to do so. For this reason, we ask him to do IAPs. It makes sense if you understand the appstore environment and the developer motivation. :-)
@Audiojunkie I hear you, I guess I would have felt differently if he asked "how do you all feel about In-app purchases", but I understand. I too love the app, guess I've been spoiled by the AppStore.
@j_liljedahl - I was in NYC this past weekend and used AudioShare on my iPhone to capture samples with both the built in mic and my Apogee ONE, recording through IAA effects at various times. So sweet to just quickly export to Dropbox whenever I was done sampling. Flawless victory! :-)
In this way, now even more so with the ability to use the file player through IAA for re-sampling through FX, AudioShare is awesome as a portable sampler. The suggestions you and others mentioned would be much welcomed, and I'd like to add pitch to that list. Doesn't need to be DIRAC time/pitch shifting, I actually want it to change speed like older samplers. I loved playing with samples in my old Dr. Sample and Electribe ES-1, re-sampling while playing with effects, pitch, etc.
@Muzetech HoldernessMedia is another Dev we've been trying to give money to. Lol
@synthandson - Haven't seen that one, thanks.
That's awesome @HoldernessMedia
Yes, pitch is on the list of possible IAP tools for the future. I too love the plain old tape/vinyl pitch effect, used to play with that on a reel-to-reel recorder when I was a kid, and later using "sound recorder" on windows 3.1.
Please make 24bit recording available soon with 44.1, 48 and 96khz. It's THE thing i'm waiting for. The newest A7 devices should do the job easy! It would take audio processing out of the "toy" (dramatized) league. So i could live another year(s) without a tablet. P L E A S E! I pay a billion....... thank's
@j_liljedahl - Sweet, looking forward to it. I need to get some kind of tape machine again, I don't have anything at the moment. Maybe a little Tascam 4-track or something for fun.
.
@galaxyexplorer for real, for honest, for serious: if you're recording only IOS apps through AB/IAA there is no reason to record at 24bit. 0. none. nada. Unless you want to see what your CPU can handle. If you're recording a live drum kit or an acoustic guitar, the case can be made, otherwise you're wasting CPU cycles and storage.
@j_liljedahl Maybe instead of adding all of that stuff as IAP you could make a separate editor app (that we buy!) that has seemless open-in operation for flipping back and forth between audioshare and the-app-to-be-named. Then you don't have to deal with learning IAPs and audioshare doesn't need to get crowded.
@HoldernessMedia Nanostudio's trg pads change pitch in the same way. Easy to copy/paste to a pad. Over priced if that's your only use but if you already own it...
@Muzetech What @simon said. We aren't just philanthropic (though there is definitely a bit of 'tip/thank you culture' involved) - we want to support the tools we need to do our work.
Audioshare is a great utility app and I would rather see new apps that are closely integrated with its functions rather than bloating it with too many features.
@HoldernessMedia. I know where you can get one if you're interested.
@syrupcore: Sorry but I have a need for this. Processing. Headroom for tracks which goes to a pro master and some others things....And why not? If you don't need it, fine but believe me i have a need for this.... especially in the near future!
@holdernessmedia.How did the inbuilt mic compare to Apogee ONE.
