Presets for Korg Gadgets?
Anyone is making presets for Gadgets? I would listen of Your presets, or even buy some. .
Comments
I always dig listening what people come up with

I use @Matt_Fletcher_2000's randomizer gizmo withing TB-Midi to randomize my Gadgets
...
How do You use it?
Some results you get are good, some will not sound. But you'll get the hang of it.
You gotta have TB-Midi, and load up his midi setup
Guess it's easier to link you to the original post

Have fun...
I might release a bank of presets if I get some time. Lord knows I have enough of them in Gadget!
The only issue is that right now it seems like the only way to transfer is via iTunes/iFun Box which is pretty annoying.
Bring on Dropbox access or similar for import/export of Gadget presets!
I thought the whole point of Korg Gadget was anybody could program those little boxes..hence ‘gadget’, a minor step up from ‘doodad’.
I want Korg Doodad!
That’s what I’ve snootily referred to it as for years now. Harumph
Me too but only if it supports AU
I would be happy with Files.app integration so I could dump the Gadget exports directly into my BM3 folder structure
Now that would be useful
Apples Files is so stupid though. Unless you have a third party files app like Documents or AudioShare, there's still no place to store and create your files except in iCloud which of course is stored online.
Secondly, can Korg have files integration while retaining support for users on IOS 10? Because Files is only available on IOS 11 even though Documents and AudioShare have been on iOS for years now.
I find Files to be highly suspect. Korg would be better off developing their own file system.
I don’t understand what you mean by ‘storing’. The files app lets music apps store in a folder that is then accessed by it. So, if an app does this, the files in that folder can be accessed by other apps that use Apple files access. This way, you don’t really need to restore the files elsewhere (doubling up space used), just access the files when needed. Yes, they can be stored online also (automatically too if the app allows).
Yes, it would be nice to also make your own folders too in the system so as to store modified files not linked to specific apps.
They could as the 'interface' is the same as the 'iCloudDrive/Document Picker' which has been around since iOS8...
(So if an app has iCloudDrive/Document Picker support for import/export it's automagically Files.app compatible).
What Files.app brings to the table in practice is that it can optionally show an apps 'Documents' folder (The same folder one can access using iTunes and iFunBox etc). It's up to the developer of the app to 'enable' it with a small addition to the apps info.plist file...
You’ve got multiple locations in this app. Locations on the left sidebar which links to certain apps like AudioShare and Documents. Then you’ve got On My IPad which link story other apps. THEN yove got ICloud Drive which links to OTHER apps. Why can we make directories in the cloud but not On My IPad? Better to just use the third party app because it offers a better user experience, and because it just does the job logically.
Because the 'My iPad' only shows each apps 'Documents' folder.
If the app that is shown there can handle folders that app can be used to create them.
Gadget has no email preset sharing options which got any modern ios app is just lazy.
I like their synth sound a lot but the app feels like they don't understand the ios system. Also battery drain is about 1% a minute on my iPhone 6s Plus which isn't very useful since it dies after an hour of music making
Yeah It seems like all Korg know how to do is build new sound modules. This year they need to make workflow enhancements and optimisations.
INDEED. I have recently realized how helpful it would be to freely choose which bar and or beat each scene starts on. I have a vey nice project going right now, but I got lost in the musical moment recording all the phrases and none of them start on the first bar. The workarounds have proven tedious at best
Yes and what if you want to repeat a group of scenes? Or render a cell but not the entire song? Why does Gadget for Mac have those view buttons but iOS doesn't? Why do I have to navigate out of the pianoroll and go to the arranger to go back into the pianoroll on the next scene? Why can't I just navigate through cells with some kind of alphanumeric numbering on each cell? Why can't we get a few extra seconds on our Bilbao samples? Why do we have to scroll to the top of the sample list to find the search bar to locate a sample? Why doesn't the audio importer in Zurich not have a search bar? Why can't we midimap the insert fx? Why can't we change scales in the piano roll? Why do we have a chord and arpeggio setting but no sustain setting? Why do we have more than 20 arpeggio variations but only one chord? Why can't we set the velocity or the polyphony? Why can't we save Darwin presets? Why can't we search for Milipitas presets? Etc
I would also add why the HELL can we not expand the on screen keys at least to cover the area of the gadget for playing at the very least, Madrid style with velocity. Maybe they'll get to working in that stuff this year. It's coming to Nintendo switch so you'd think some things would have to be looked at again in regards to that
Bigger keys is something that has been requested for a LONG time, especially 'madrid style' as it would make it possible to add some expression to the playing. My cynicism says that if they add that no one would buy the nanoKEY Studio
(I love mine!).
The beauty of MIDI is you can recreate that scene with a little bit of (semi-painstaking) effort, since your work is documented right there. Almost every bit of worthwhile work requires tediousness, at (the very least) sometimes.
I see what you're saying, but the idea of recording it live is it's way more fun for me than opening the piano roll. And I like to have fun when musicking. Perhaps I will mix it proper and toss each scene into Blocs Wave.
Sure, and thats great to capture it live; my thoughts are that if it’s THAT good (a keeper), then it’s worth punching it in again yourself instead of expecting Korg to cater to your mistake. And probably more reliable.
Sorry, I wasn’t intending to single you out; I just see a lot of complaints on these forums that, to me, are nitpicks compared to all the tedious crap I’ve had to do over the years.
To be fair it's probably not THAT good. And I try not to expect too much. But some things make sense and fit logically with other things in an app. For example, Auxy has a track structuring flow that's pretty much identical to Gadgets now and they have the "start offset" option which is actually less necessary there as there is no live recording. But it ain't no thing. Just chatting
The more you work with the pianoroll the better it gets. I use the keys to get a rif and decide what scale to use but after that I program everything in note by note. The automation on the other hand is mostly done live and th scene style recording is perfect for getting interesting sounding modulation. But using Gadget often feels like riding a bike with training wheels, we need more flexibility with the sequencing and not another Lisbon or DeeMax.
Edit: not that Lisbon or Deemax are bad, just that their sounds are already attainable with existing Gadgets/FX.
I miss nanostudio editor. It had a few shortcomings but I found them very easy to work around. Still my favorite but it vanished down the 32 bit app hole
