New album from Doug Woods and Colin Powell - now available!

edited December 2017 in Creations

Sally Caster and Denks and Klade: The Mechanical Girl Takes Revenge. New album from Doug Woods and Colin Powell is out now!

We thought it would be a great idea to bring together characters from some of our previous albums, and this is the result! A mix of melodic Progressive Rock, Electronic Music and even a bit of Trap!

There is a PDF booklet accompanying the download with the backstory of The Mechanical Girl, Sally Caster, Mr Denks and Mr Klade, plus the story behind this album and details of the apps used.

We recommend you read the story and then listen to the album or vice versa! You can discover more adventures of the main characters on The Haunting of Sally Caster, Sally Caster 2: The Revenge, The Chronicles of Mr Denks and Mr Klade: The Time Traveller (and Mr Denks and Mr Klade also feature on The Absurdium Fog).

Here is an executive summary of the story of this album:

The Mechanical Girl has gone insane and is running amok in the timestream! It will take the combined efforts of Sally Caster, Mr Denks and Mr Klade, and the help of a new character to help track her down and bring back harmony to the timestream!

We hope you like it and spread the word! :)

Luckily I’m on your Bandcamp email list, so I’ve already been listening to it this morning. This has great tunes and the sonic quality is really high. Another outstanding job guys.

  • Always good work from you guys. :)

  • Really great depth to your sounds, I like the concept too!

  • Thank you @TozBourne @Lady_App_titude @Zen210507 @1nsomniak

We are really pleased with the sound. Although it was recorded and mixed on iPads using iOS apps (mainly Cubasis, Audiobus, Zeeon, Kauldron, LayR, Roli Noise, ToneStack, JamUp Pro, SynthScaper, SynthMaster, Korg iM1, Gadget), Doug also used Reason sometimes and mastered the album in T-racks,.

It sounds great. Really hope T-Racks comes to IOS.

  • Sounds amazing, best of luck with it!

  • Me too @Zen210507 but I think I may need a bigger iPad!

    Thanks @MonzoPro

We have a track called ‘Jackson Spear’ about a 1970’s time travelling chronodetective!

If he sees the Mechanical Girl, in his (time) travels we’ll be sure to let you know. :)

I love this- it’s SYNTH-TACULAR! And, the guitar playing is so tasty!

  • After buying the album and now having listened to it a few times, I’m even more impressed by the sonic quality, and the playing, of course. It’s a nice album to accompany me on my morning mile walk with all of its layers of sounds and different beats and such. The sounds and the layers of those sounds provide an interesting sonic complexity. It’s gotten more interesting with each listen.

    Highly recommended.

  • Well, thank you very much, @TozBourne that is a great compliment! Glad you are enjoying it.
