Yeah, and besides all that ... it runs on my iPad 2! HA! Not well, but I was able to load up a preset and figure out alot of the interface (some) and so on. Wow. I'm going to be having some fun with this.
@kinkujin Thanks for the tip about the iPad 2 - just installed it on my kid's iPad so he can mess around with it.
Get 'em while they're young, I say.....
I'm glad you're installing on your son's ipad. Maybe he can do a series of tutorials for me, his cheese vids are adorable.
I reeeeaaaalllly wasn't going to buy anything more until NS2. Honest I wasn't!
No to derail the thread TOO much further, but thank you again for all the support. His latest video is over 100 views and he's psyched. You guys rule.
Yep the onboard synth is a little gem. Coupled with the poboard fx. Yummy. Did i mention u can do feedback?
A lot of discovery with this app this evening. Just loading up presets and trying to uncover the effect of all of these controls. This one goes deep ... very deep. I love apps like this.
Another app I used to use a lot but forgot about. Loaded it up last night - wonderful.
umm..where is the hidden synth?
Tap the input selection (upper left circle with down arrow) - 3 options: input, sampler, synth. After closing you see the sections of the synth as rectangles.
Yeah, so ... Moebius Lab just doesn't do well on the iPad 2. Just not. Sorry @Daveypoo for the false hope.
It works well enough for my son to have a blast with it. Yesterday afternoon was filled with shouts of "Mom - come and listen to this cool sound!" from the back room with much eye-rolling from my wife.
He's not loading up AUs in it or anything, so he can just work with what's on board an be happy.
Ok so ... quick question -
Are the au apps fed into the effects of the app? So far, I can only seem to effect the internal synth? Blend the internal synth with an au app (cool !) but can't suss out how to get those lovely and wacky effects on the loaded au synth. No, i have not rtfm yet.
There are different places for AUs - in the input slots and in the effects chain. Are you trying to add an AU synth in the input and run it through the internal effects in ML?
@Daveypoo
Yeah, I hit the PLUS sign at the top, loaded up a synth app, plays fine with onscreen keyboard but cannot seem to run it through ML internal effects?
That’s strange - do you have screenshots of your setup?
Ok - wait. Are you adding the synth app into the middle or the left? You should add the synth apps to the left input in this case, as these will be directly routed through the effects. If you add the synth to the middle, it will be the dry synth app sound added to the output but not through the effects. The middle is also good for adding a global effect, if desired. See page 2 and 3 of the user guide which more clearly explains the routing (under right top menu).
damn this synth is fabulous. monster sound.
Hey, thanks y’all. Got it somewhat sussed out. I did consult the manual but only got so far with the text. Unsure of what all the effects are doing but I’ll get there.
I did load up Kosmonaut in a RAU and wasn’t able to get any effect at all. But maybe I shouldn’t load it there??
I love combining internal synth with another au or two plus trying out the ML effects. Wild stuff.
Help anyone - seems Moebius Lab2 is not in the app store (uk) just the first version which has no AU?
There is only the one version, v2 was a free update.
Check out the version history.
Can ML be loaded as an AUv3 plugin or does it "only" host AUv3s?
And when I have AUv3 plugins loaded both in ML and in, say, Cubasis, can I still use it as an IAA in Cubasis?
Ok cheers so still Auv3 Downloading thanks though you could have just said its AU Cheers though
On sale $5.99 from $12.99
A reminder... need a break from same-ol same-ol? For something a little different... revisit Moebius as an AU host.
Here it is hosting as input: RE-1 echo tape looper, soon to be released iPulsaret as AUv3, two instances of Enso, and a couple built in chain fx.
@skiphunt cheers for this I literally just fed a beat into Amazing Noises Limiter. Impressive then looked at Mobeius. I had no idea it hosts AU Plugins. Does it sync well with host DAW or do you experience plug in latency?
I was just playing with it standalone mode, but that’s a good question. It’s a different experience than the other AU hosts since you’re working in its chained circuit paradigm with either regular mic input, or looped sample, or either 1 or 2 AUs as input, or it’s own synth (which is actually quite good in its own right) or external AU synths, etc. then add in AUs in the chain circuit along with its own built in fx. You can also reorder items in the circuit too.
It’s really extraordinary as a cool experimental lab.
That is the most apt description of this app.
Moebius Lab is the first app I beta tested and the first thing I ever tried by Amazing Noises. You actually reminded me - I should do a video on this one too.
@skiphunt ok cool Thanks for info
Sick fucking app
