Just noticed Groovebox drums are on sale again
.99 down from the regular 1.99.
Adding MIDI out would really increase the usability of the app, and I hope that is coming soon, but I really like the drumkits that they offer.

Thx for the heads up @JeffChasteen -
Its all packs FX and Features.... for all apps too
Ampify x Novation end of year sale.
Why would they add midi out? There's no automation so you wouldn't send ccs or anything and it's not a particularly clever control surface, just a keyboard. Plus that would cut into iap sales.
This is a process question from a relative newcomer.
Why, if you can't send automation, would you need midi out? I can see its value/necessity in an expressive app like Animoog or KRFT, but what's the value for Groovebox? Just that you can have the midi data in another DAW? Would you then change the sounds? Would midi export, as in Auxy, do the trick?
Would love to see MIDI export / MIDI out. There’s some really great patterns you can tweak. The drum sounds are great but sometimes you want to add something to them in a DAW.
Why not just have another DAW running alongside it and record the Groovebox audio? You can export stems, right? Is it just that you want to preserve editing capabilities to the last possible moment? I kind of feel like, if I like the groove, it doesn't need more tweaking. And if I export the audio of that groove to, say, Cubasis, and then later learn that I need some variation, or a note in the original melody is conflicting with something that came later, I can always go back to Groovebox and do a variation and export that.
I must be missing something obvious. But I also am trying to work against the seduction of endlessly editable midi. I am all for finding a great inspiring sound and printing the effects to tape. Engineers hate this, I know. But this is exactly what Tony Visconti did when recording the song "Heroes" with Bowie. The genesis of the song was that bass line, and it has tons of chorus on it. But that was the source of inspiration, so they kept it and worked around it.
Two changes would shoot this most awesome of apps over the moon for my tastes...
*Ability to record gui automation
*Variable pattern length
Anyone know if I buy the Launchpad Effects Pro IAP will it also be available on the iPhone? Or is it a separate purchase?
@ExAsperis99 I guess I’m thinking that some other tools might give you a little more options. Dump the MIDI into Xequence, invert it, flip it, etc. to make a bridge section. Really put your own stamp on it.
No biggie though. Just seen the call for GUI automation so that’s probably a bigger plus.
Can we save presets yet??
Ah, excellent point about chopping and flipping the loop. That's not easily achieved in Groovebox. But I have some idea that I recorded automation? Must have imagined it....
The bass line was printed to tape with flanger (which was definitely considered a no no at the time)
I dont think the iap fx are available on iphone version.
The ones present seem to apply to every channel which is disappointing.
