UPCOMING: New App from Kai Aras

This is my favorite to date from him. I have used it on every instrument and style of music finding it a really quality app.

The oscilloscope is also a nice touch.

AU and IAA

Just thought I give some info you might find interesting.

I think everything he does is superb quality.

Only if he would do a synth app. That would be something pretty awesome.

  • Ooooohhh. Lovely stuff!

  • And there’s more!

  • Looks nice, but isn't decent distortion pretty much part of every DAW? Actually, this might be a nice flavor in AUM now that Rozeta has made it such a hospitable environment....

  • erm.....Why does a distortion processor have Link ? Is there some sort of LFO that isn't on the screen shots ?

  • Strange that it has link, but this will be an instabuy for me nevertheless. Just another flavour of distortion, and goodness knows I miss the variety Nanostudio’s waveshaper gave me. :)

What plugin are you playing? Or is it something real?

That is a sound from the new iap in BM3.

The effect is a new AU/IAA I am using as a AU fx.

INHO, this is the best I have heard.

    My opinion is this.

Outstanding a miracle, I think the "instruments" apps that will be the bread and butter are here.

With AU making fx easier than ever to use, plus I think alot of IOS musicians are coming into their own.

People are truly finding "their" sound so to speak as we get bigger and release more music.

I also think we are entering a brand loyalty era of apps.

Apps and developers that step up, respond, update, and just do a good job get rewarded.

Absentee "Landlords" so to speak, really don't make it.

Yes, there are others, but, I think more at play these days.

Kai apps to me are pro quality with real controls on real parameters.

Which is not always common in FX apps.

But, you are right, no doubt.

But, I think more is happening.

Kai, Brambos, Kymatica, these guys keep coming through proving themselves with multiple apps over time.

That wins me over. I buy to support these guys alot times anyway. But I use Kai's all the time.

AND THERE ARE MORE THINGS COMING FROM HIM.......................

    Hmm.. :o

  • Sounds pretty clean. Was it even on?

    Yes.

I guess without knowing what it was before.....LOL

For me the "bent""distorted" sound is easy to get, but true clean grit or density of lifelikeness on a piano or string is more what I am fond of and looking for.

I will do another vid for you,

Is that really "distortion", or is it more like subtle pitch modulation? Maybe like a tape echo warble.

They had to be saved by a sober man. But at the same time, I do believe that the bears saved Timothy Treadwell as much as he tried to save them."

  • How does it compare to grind used only as normal distortion?
