Self made Christmas Songs
Pretty likely that some of us did a Christmas song. Well I did. It is based on the original Silent Night lyrics.
Silent Night Rap

Not really finished, the vocals need to be performed better in the non rap part.
Still, apart from that, one can see where it would be going, if ever finished.
Happy to hear how you find my version.
And post a Christmas song which you did in here, if you like to.

Nice. Share the love.
This is from 2 years ago. Sadly i had no time this and last year to do a Christmas song which i normally did every year.
However, Merry Christmas to all here :https://logamp.com/1164/music/tracks/8816
I did this a couple of years ago. No time this year.

As opportunity knocks to blow our festive trumpet...

Here's one that I did with the missus a few years back:
Thanks for listening!
I will listen to all songs being submitted here later when Back at home - good headphones sound better than what comes out of my iPhone speakers.
Since you asked for it, here’s an oldie about the gift buying decision process.
Please excuse the lack of mastering, this was before I knew there was such a thing.
This is great, thanks for sharing. Would not be so easy to get this one placed on a "standard" Christmas Songs CD, though.
Here is why it is good in my eyes:
I don't think mastering is missing here. It sounds good, the way it is. The "wrong" type of modern mastering might even spoil the atmosphere. It fits the style and approach well.
Thanks for sharing.
P.S.: I would be happy to get detailed comments on my tune, too
@teleb
Ok, I think yours is a nice funky take on Silent Night (which I never would’ve considered for a rap contender until today). Sounded nice and clean to me - don’t change it.
Thanks for sharing, Cib. You must be the one who's user name is cinebient over at KVR? My user name at KVR is telebunke.
Your tune does have a very good atmosphere. I love this violin-like sound. Which synth/sampler is it from?
It's a kind of tune, that I couldn't hope to get done in a way which can keep up the interest of a listener. But you mastered it flawless. The percussion is top notch. This can easily fit to a Hollywood movie scene.
P.S.: I would be happy to get detailed comments on my tune, too
Here’s one I dug up from looooonng ago. One of the first songs I did back when learning FL Studio on the PC. Just a bit of a faff about with the guitar that kinda turned into something. I remember now that the Mini Moog-ish lead was built from scratch using a plain-vanilla 3 oscillator plugin + FX, which impresses me a little now that I think about it.
Nice one. I liked it a lot. There are so many rehashed versions of christmas songs that don’t really bring anything new to the table, but this one sounds fresh. I read the comments on your page and was sad to think there could be people that could be offended by your remake. Too bad for them I say.
You remind me of myself when I see that you hope to finish it one day ... and it was posted 10 years ago.
Thanks for commenting.
No plans to change it over here. Just the vocals, they would need to be done with correct intonation and better performance here and there.
If I ever complete the song, then I'll have to do it from scratch. The original project was done more than 10 years ago, the computer broke, many of the VST Instruments can't be installed on my current Mac. The electric guitar stems from Virtual Guitarist Electric edition, the picked/muted acoustic guitar is the original Virtual Guitarist, first edition. The strings are Steinberg/Wizoo Hypersonic1. So, if I am ever gonna complete it, I need to recreate it all.
Impossible to recreate it 100% like this one was. But I'd try and keep it as close as possible.
Now that's what I call an innovative approach to the topic :-)

I envision a futuristic, little psychedelic, independent Christmas Movie, that is pushed forward with your tune.
I actually listend twice. Needed 1 extra listening to digest this
I envy you a little cause I am not able to bring forth something like this.
P.S.: I would be happy to get detailed comments from you on my tune, too
Yes posted 10 years ago, recorded probably another 3 years before that. Call me "Mr. Unfinished", please.
very good. I am not so good in naming styles of music, what would you call this style-wise?
This bassline lick, that starts right at the beginning and goes thru most of the song is very interesting, I really started to appreciate this lick.
nice guitar recordings. Regards to "the missus" for this vocal performance, great voice.
Amazing how many completely different approaches we see on Christmas songs in this thread.
Thanks. She will be glad to hear that; I will make sure to let her know
I like the feel of this instrumental.
"Just a bit of a faff about with the guitar that kinda turned into something" <- turned into something worth listening, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, teleb.
We’d call it future soul.
The method is influenced by Massive Attack, who are masters at using a decent bass throughout a song.
Here’s a bundle of joy from a few years back. Christmas party at the studio, a couple of guest spots by Memphis music staples, song written and sung by me. I think it’s almost the best song I’ve ever written, especially considering how drunk we all were, except they rushed me on the chorus. But the lyrics are classic and spot on. And the interlude before solo 2 by my late friend Clay Otis just kills me. Then it devolves into a party of 12 or so drunks having a merry time.
Anyway, hope you enjoy.
Bah humbug

Good, job. I can't hear that you were drunk. :-)
And it seems you were still able to move your fingers the right way to play the guitar. The party of 12 at the end is great!
I like the lyrics - LOL - preview - what more could you say about Christmas
Well if it's Christmas tracks you want....

I did this one a couple of years back:
And this was last year:

Merry Christmas (nearly)!
(P.S. I shall enjoy going through this thread and watching/listening to them when I'm back home and have wifi).
Thank´s! The violin is Bohemian Violin from Virharmonic. But this was before the awesome update.
When i listen to it the first thing came to mind was "this sounds true". I mean it´s like you really wanted to catch the Christmas carol with your own style and i find that good. I hear some "imperfections" and that even gives the track some wonderful character.
This thread also inspired me to made a Christmas song for 2017 today....so thank you for that. Here i used the updated version of the Bohemian Violin. Of course there are some other tools involved but no keyswitches, no automation etc. I really love it. Even played on just ma macbook keys
About your tune. You say it´s not finished but is a song ever finished
I often wish my voice would be usable for vocals of any kind but no way
I often tend to never finish a lot tracks until i destroy them totally while trying to change this and add that etc.
Then i delete the whole shit and when i´m in a mood and get inspired i sometimes finish a track in 1-2 hours.
So thank you again to inspire me to this one.....not perfect and maybe unfinished as well but it is just my interpretation of a Christmas song. It´s great to have such a variety of styles around but catching about the same mood, feeling
@Cib Man, you should do Hollywood movies. The last one you posted, Merry Christmas 2017, would have been good for some scenes in Inception. It has such an intense vibe, well done.
Opposed to your problem with vocals, I can only get something done WITH vocals. Not enough ideas and arrangement capability to do just instrumentals. Well, if you don't count the 8 or 16 bar ideas.
A good way for me in the past was to do something with other people together. I really miss my old iOS tracks where i remixed or used vocals from others.
I had trouble because iOS musicians were very rare at that time. Now i‘m using more mac but didn‘t have time to do that.
If you ever be interested in the new year to share some vocals i would do this again
Indeed, that track just used 5 notes within a scale.
I‘m sure you heard that arps going on using the same notes with randomized arp settings.
You can do a lot with just a few notes.
But in 95% i trigger all notes live without quantization (of course the arp is quantized mostly) and it‘s interesting what interesting movements you can get with just 3-4 notes, changing direction, speed, chords.
Wiesbaden Christmas Tree
My 2017 updated version of Gaudette Electronique appears on this somewhat alternative Christmas Compilation on bandcamp from the "You Might Not Like This Label". Mine (and all the others) free to download - but perhaps make a donation to your favorite charity if you like any of it.

And this is possibly my last ever NanoStudio 1 track.
Nice, thanks for sharing. Some cool Sounds in there.
