That was quick!
And very much needed and appreciated for the likes of me. Well me...
Anyway, thanks Doug. Lovely.
Super fast! Thanks man! Will check in the commercials break of the darts World Cup ;-)
Cheers Doug .....really well explained , I’ve never used this type of Electribe beatbox before so this helped greatly
wow. that's quite a lift. a carbon copy- even the type and order of stuff like the ifx is exactly the same.
well....at least the envelopes are adsr
10/10 for originality
The app’s workflow has some similarities to the Korg Volca Sample too. Looking at the presets Jim has provided in the app is a great way to figure things out as well. The sample import via the file app on iOS 11 works great.
Thanks again, Dougster!
Thanks Doug..
Essential. Thanks Doug. I'm not a natural fan of Poison (appreciate what it does, but not in my exact kitchen), but this looks terrific. Suspect I will be a little lost to start with, not because of depth, but more than anything a lack of a timeline/piano roll. Not having grown up with the hardware versions of these things, I feel a little blind not being able to see 'my notes', but I'm sure this is just a matter of habit. Was planning/telling myself I would spend the Christmas break trying to make progress with BM3, but I swapped horses as soon as I saw you playing with this thing....
One of the easiest beat boxes I’ve ever used
Weird, I can’t seem to rustle up any excitement for this. Everyone else seems to love it....I’m missing something somewhere...
feeling same way about my real version at the mo. funny that he's designed it with all the gripes people had with the hardware version o_O
the reason i got a pad was to get off the 4 bar, 16th note grid. but you can make some groovy tunes with the electribe. be the same with this
For me it depends what sort of music you are wanting to make. My sense is that this is a multi genre EDM machine as determined by previous grooveboxes and it is absolutely fantastic at it. You can get your curly grimy fulsom electronic sounds without too much of an effort. Then if you don’t quite like them- a couple of flicks with your finger and you are transported to some other high quality option for consideration. It’s easy to get your sounds going somewhere decent- that’s the beauty of this. Anyone with a history of hardware Groovebox use will love this app I would think. This may be the best Groovebox ever made in my eyes. It’s absolutely the best value for money. I would think it’s set to be a classic.
Thanks for the feedback.
I think what’s putting me off, is that it looks a bit like iSpark, sequencer-wise, and I could never get the hang of that one.
Dunno. Seems a lot of app for the money, so if someone slips an iTunes voucher in my xmas stocking, and it’s still a tenner I might give it a go. I feel like it’d be another excuse for me not to learn how to use BM3 properly though.
Be nice to see some more vids, in particular what the sampler is capable of.
I didn’t like iSpark either- nor could I get into it. I never use it at all now- I found it constantly frustrating. This is a much different interface. It’s very easy to use. Once it clicks in- and it will very quickly- it becomes smoothly intuitive.
despite all it's limitations, i do like my little electribe.
the facebook forum was amazing. none stop live jams. dozens a day!! fizzed now tho
one thing for sure it can't do, is play the joanna
how do you save your patches? and rename them?
You can name them in the part menu. I think the patches are saved with the pattern- so you can't call them up to another pattern- though you can copy and paste them in the part menu. You can also have different pad colours for different parts - which is a nice effect.
Why hasn’t it got an AB start button?
How do you access the parameter editing in edit mode? I have got the note length- chance- and velocity and all that. But how do you edit the Cutoff etc?
