My Haggis has stopped Flying
How is everybody’s Flying Haggis app? Mine has stopped opening, even by itself.
I deleted/redownloaded it with no improvement. Hopefully it’s not a permanent crash, this is probably my favorite guitar app.

Same here.
Here as well..2017 iPad Pro running latest public iOS 11 update
Still works on iOS 10 I presume?
On my pro Haggis will show the startup screen, and freeze there, requiring me to force quit it to get it off my app switcher.
Still working on 10.3.3
Darn! (I mean good for you @JeffChasteen).If a roll back is the only way to get it working I’ll do it. I just email Dave at db audioware to see if he has a plan.
Love Flying Haggis. Hope they fix it.

That's a bummer. I've moved away from using most of the software modelers anyway (in favor of analog pedals with a cab sim into an interface - low latency). But I wish there were more in the style of Flying Haggis - a straightforward, solid amp sim with a single screen of controls and an experience roughly comparable to setting up an actual amp.
There's a dozen (or more) apps on iOS that purport to do a Vox AC30 sound, but for whatever reason, I thought I could make Flying Haggis do that Vox-like "chime" in a way none of the others could. Hope they get it updated again.
Yikes -- a little worried, as FH is my go-to guitar amp simulator. It's still running for me, stand-alone, on a couple of the test rigs. iOS 11.0 on an iPad Air 1, and iOS 11.0.1 on an iPad Pro 1. FH 1.2 -- the app has not been updated since October 2014. The Air is with a Focusrite iTrack dock, the Pro with an Apogee Jam. I'm able to insert FH into AUM, and things seem cool there too.
So.... my guess is that an iOS version after 11.0.1 breaks things. The Air 1 is my "music work" iPad, and it looks like I'm going to avoid updating it for a while....
Sorry everyone - Flying Haggis has indeed been grounded, by some obscure change in one of the most recent iOS 11 patches
For the moment, I've had to remove the app from sale. I hope to make a patch available at some point, and may take the opportunity to add some enhancements while I'm back in the code - but I can't promise when that will happen.
Drats. One of my favourite amp sims. Hope you can get it patched soon.
Thanks Dave! This is my go to rig as well! I miss it and will not uninstall ever!
When you get back in the code, would love a pitch shifter effect. But no biggie for now as long as FH stays alive. Please? It’s an IOS legend!
Totally agree.
☹️
Haggis was my go-to effects app on an iPad Air -- which I avoided updating as much as possible. And then the screen on the iPad started popping out, because the lithium battery was swelling (and you know how that ends). So.... send things back to Apple, and in the exchange I get a replacement iPad, with a newer iOS, and.... now, no haggis for me.
@DaveB -- hope you can get it sorted. FH is a wonderful app, and I absolutely love the guitar tones I get out of it.
@DaveB - Thanks for the response. I understand that keeping on top of changes to the iOS architecture isn't a full-time occupation for (most) app developers. Flying Haggis was a greatly appreciated app, even in the face of some flashier competitors, and I would love to see it operational again when you can. I would further love some more features, but we'll take what we can get.
Get it flying for Burns Night !
I do hope it comes back it’s also my fav for nice guitar tone!
Any news regarding Flying Haggis ?
I’ve contacted them here:

Maybe, if we tell them how much we miss the app, they’ll get it up to speed.
I have asked and got a vague response.
A little viagra got my haggis flying again.
I hope this gets fixed, I am another FH fan.
I gather it's not a priority. Not holding my breath. They have a lot of competition in that space, and may have decided to just leave it.
Bummer, it was really cool and simple-to-use
Thanks for the update @DaveB! I'm also looking forward to the day when my Haggis is Flying again …
I feel simultaneously ashamed and excited to bump this dusty old thread, but I'd like to show you lovely people a wee image.
Looking for a few friendly faces to help beta test, once Apple have finished their initial review!
Yes, would be happy to test. Is it AUV3? Not a deal breaker, but wondering all the same.
I bought this when it was released for desktop. Had no idea it was an iOS app. I gather it's gone from the app store, much like it's desktop counterpart which seems abandoned long ago.
(edit) Yep, gone. Shame, I got excited for a minute as I really liked the desktop version.
@DaveB I'd be happy to test it out.
@DaveB Oh Lord yes! How do I get the beta? Please make it sound like the original!!! I promise my face is friendly. 🥸
@DaveB I'd be glad to check it out for you. Firm believer in testing as testing.
Just suggesting: How about a new thread and an open beta?
