iOS for the holidays anyone?

So this evening instead of talking with the adults upstairs I went down with all the kids in the basement and set up my iPad with studio monitors, a mic, and VoiceRack:FX for a fun time of weird vocal fx, story telling, karaoke, and all sorts of silliness. It was enough to keep a dozen kids age 11 and under entertained for hours.

Anyone else successfully bring iOS music into their holiday family festivities?

I'm afraid not (more's the pity), but that's a nice story. Good for you!

No, but there are children thump, thump, thumping around giggling and laughing. They're not my kids, but it's music to my ears during the holidays. I'm sure parents who live with it on a daily basis may feel differently. o:)

Anyway, good to see you still around, and good on you for entertaining the kiddies during the holidays -- especially if you enjoyed it. :+1:

Cheers, mate. There is definitely some enjoyment in seeing kids discover the joy and mystery of sounds... even if it is just turning their own voice 2 octaves lower to sound like a monster.

Also, it helps to go into a situation with the right expectations. I fully expected my cables to get stomped on, twisted, kinked. I wasn’t worried about the SM58 mic, other than having kids spit all over it. I may wash it off before next use. and the rest of my gear was kept away from little sticky hands well-protected on the desk. So I was able to have fun without getting too worried.
