Audio dropouts and clicks on iphone x

iOS 11.2.1

I've noticed this on several apps. For example with nothing else open except for Korg Gadget (3.5.2), load any demo and start it playing, and every 30 seconds or so I get a full-on audio dropout. I think it's more than just drop samples though, as I think the timeline is glitched as well.

Even garageband drops out every once in a while. Anyone else seeing this?

Trying to figure out if it's an iphone x thing or an ios thing.
