@tja: No worries. "8 different channels of iSymphonic" count as 8 different instruments, so your exported MIDI file will have 8 separate tracks. (one instrument = one "vertical box" on the instruments screen in Xequence :))

    Ahhh, I'm relieved :)

Ya me too I just voted @SevenSystems the best developer of 2017 and was afraid I was going to have to knock him down a few pegs. LOL.

  • @Chaztrip haha, that's brilliant :D now I'll have to defend that title for 2018 :o

    Slightly different topic, but still.

Today, I tried to share regular MIDI files from AudioShare to BM3.
Both in AudioShare and Cubasis, they work fine! Even in Auria Pro.

It got saved to the "Imports" folder, but I cannot load them in BM3 at all.
    The button is not activated.

I also tried to drop the MIDI file to one of the pads, but also to no avail.

Every time I try anything in BM3, it just does not seem to work.

Is it possible to import MIDI files, @mathieugarcia?

Drag them onto the timeline, not a pad.

  • BM3 has a problem importing midi format ‘1’ files (or is the format ‘0’?)... one or the other..

Is there any kind of converter between those type?
Or at least and indication, which type a file has?

Will try to open with an editor, but iOS is strange so often, not sure if that will be possible.

The only converter I found was on desktop...
    http://www.gnmidi.com/

  • Xequence can open Type 0, 1 and 2 MIDI files, and saves as Type 1. So, if you copy your MIDI file into Xequence using the Files app, “Load” it from the “...” screen, and then simply “Export MIDI file” again, this should convert any MIDI file to type 1.

Finally saw videos on Xequence.. Maybe now I can wrap my head around it...

  • @RajahP if any specific questions remain, feel free to post them to the mile-long “Xequence MIDI sequencer” thread here :)

Thanks... Nibbling at TheAudioDabbler videos right now...
BTW, it is type '0' midi format BM3 handles well... Xequence does '1'.. I think.

  • Just to add my two pence, I’m using Cubasis to convert my Xequence midi files so that they work in BM3 :p BM3 is super midi fussy lol
