iPad dock

I have been looking at the behringer is202 anyone have any experience with this? Is it good? It has USB but its only for transferring midi to a computer, it has midi ports on the back for hooking up a controller.....once you hook it up, is it easy to get it to work with your iPad using midi cables vs USB with a camera connection kit? Or would I be better off getting a cck and a powered USB hub. I just don't want to run into any additional issues

  • Is202 works properly when it works. Then other times it has a crackle noise that needs firmware fixing... so if you are in old iPad with let’s say iOS9? Ok. If not, avoid it.

With newer iPads the CCK3 and Novation AudioHub seems a winner. Said that I just bought two days ago an iTrack dock and sounds amazing but it’s not perfect setup for mostly users.

  • Im on an older iPad 4 so I don't think that's a good option for me. I'm going to buy a novation launchkey25, do I need a powered hub or will a cck do the job?

  • iPad 4 is lightning so you will need an adaptor and you will lose analog video output. For me these are reasons to avoid any old dock in your situation. If I should look into something aside iTrack (which fit my needs) maybe Alesis io dock 2 could be an option.
Dock aside, if you want to plug a launchkey (due only iTrack let you) you will need a CCK and I recommend usb3 model. If you don’t need to plug anything else it will work (there is a topic about compatibility and powering tests from one of the @jakoB_haQ videos) so I recommend you search the forum to be sure before buy anything. If you are considering plug an audio interface hub will be a must and good powered one my advice.
