Cubasis tutorial

So I decided to go with cubasis. I have to admit I'm quite frustrated, a few times I have opened it up trying to learn it....I'm used to the simple way of using menu's. like how on ableton I would hit file, new and add a midi track and insert my vest....this is not so easy....so then I go to you tube for some tutorials and I found steinberg ones but they gishow you general functions, while others show other types of stuff but not showing me what I want....did I meant ion I'm a red head and the temper that goes along with it? lol I'm just frustrated so can you please tell me how I start a new project from scratch, how to inset a synth using audiobus with this thing and how to insert a drum loop I have written?

at the top right corner there is a question mark with 'help' written below. there's a getting started built into Cubasis.
basically it's not different from your laptop experience:
    1) start a new project (media->create new project)
    2) insert a blank track (add button -> choice of midi or audio)
    3) add an instrument if it's a midi track (-> tap on the piano icon in the track header -> tap on 'instruments' -> select and instrument)
    4) select the audio input if it's an audio track (->'routing' in the inspector -> input -> different choices )

  • The user doc for Cubasis is pretty good. And if you have the time, watch a lot of Sound Test Room videos on YouTube. Doug Woods uses Cubasis to host other apps, and to compose stuff all the time. You'd get a good view of possible workflows and steps to take to accomplish various tasks.

  • You could try asking some specific questions on this forum, too. Lots of Cubasis users on here.

  • If your drum loop is in AudioShare. You can transfer it from there by tapping on the Cubasis icon- if you tap all the symbols below your wav- you will see what they do- one of them will open a list of your other apps you can do this with- including Cubasis. It will then replicate/appear in Cubasis in ‘my audio’- then you can just drag it on to your audio track (see post above)- I would stick to audio tracks only until you get used to it. Then move on to midi.
