Future Drummer updated to v1.2

Future Drummer just received an update. It doesn’t say it but I think Link is fixed as well. I just dropped it into a low bpm jam and it didn’t change the master tempo when randomizing FD patterns. This has made my day if so!

@LuisMartinez are you able to confirm please? Thank you!

  • fixed midi out issues - previous version was crashing when connecting with Gadget

  • @gusgranite - How are the sounds in this? I have Funk Drummer and Soft Drummer and find the jamming aspect of them to be pretty useful. Been thinking of getting this for awhile.

  • The sounds alone sound meh, but actually sounds nice and cuts thru when mixing in other elements. Just my two cents. The samples seem to already have been compressed. Either that or just good sound design. I keep going back to this app. I'll find sounds that go with my own instruments, then sample any old stock pattern straight to a BM3 pad, then splice the individual hits to seperate pads and program my beat that way.

Yah i found the sounds sit super great in a mix too. They also process really well for me with things like effectrix or turnado.

    Thanks.. mines..

Enough wishing for a ‘unlocked’ version of GarageBand’s beat sequencer. This seems like it, and more.

  • don't forget, I believe you can unlock extra sound sets by leaving reviews on the included ones...

Yes, true. Also added some controls I think useful, like "Live Fill" button in the main screen.

Added a new button in the Jamming section "Keep Last Groove". It will set as a current groove the last groove jammed.

Sounds aside, there are a lot of other differences. You can reverse samples by step, subdivide steps, and many other things, plus the performance mode has much more powerful than the other apps.

I don't end up using it in pieces that much (not really up my alley style-wise) but it sure is fun and satisfying to play with and to jam with.

Thanks. Yes, I jumped in and got this as well as Rock Drummer (my least favorite of the four - sounds too “classic sound of Rawk” for me). I find FD to be pretty good, especially with effects like Shaper.
