Importing with auria

I'm trying to get a drum loop into Auria. Using AudioShare I have tried audio copy and I copy it but when I go back to Auria "paste" is still greed out, so that didn't work so then I try import into Auria and I choose my file n AudioShare and I hit import and then I go back to Auria and it's not there.....I tried each way multiple times so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

  • Paste is greyed out because that doesn't work between apps - the one you want is "AudioPaste"

Otherwise the Files app works nicely.

  • you can also drag n drop using the Files app right into an audio track

  • I'm not sure I understand......how would I drag and drop, like directly from AudioShare? But I also don't understand why the import function isn't working in AudioShare.....at this point I have not gotten AudioShare to work at all which makes it at this point useless for me unless I get all the functions to work properly.....sorry I'm just very frustrated at this point

It may go to an Auria import area(folder) instead of showing up in your project directly. It becomes available to use in Auria after you import from Audioshare, but you may have to load it into your project still. I don't use Auria, but some other apps work this way so it may be the case for Auria as well.

I am also baffled by drag-and-drop. Someone mentioned on another thread that Auria supported it but I have no idea how you would make this work. Where would you drop the audio file - in the track? Or do you have to open up the "Load project" menu and drop it into the file structure?

  • yeah, drop it right in the audio track

  • How do we drag and drop the audio file from the Files app right into Auria’s timeline?
The Files app doesn’t seem to float to allow me to do this.

  • The other way, for those as baffled as I am with the Files App, is to export your file to Dropbox, then import it into your project right into a track, within Auria.

To drag, hold down file in Files app, with another finger pull up the dock, hover the file over Auria (which should already be open), then drop it onto an audio track.

  • Wow thanks guys all three ways worked great!!!

  • I don't want to start a new thread so I'll just add on to this one since it's Auria related.

I'm relatively new to Auria so I have two basic questions:

    1. Can you add more than 4 plugins/inserts to a track?
    2. Is there a way to rearrange the order of the plugins?

I was reading through the manual but couldn't find anything on it.. unless I just missed it

Been doing this for ages but it's frustrating since I primarily use OneDrive and not Dropbox. My free 1GB of DB fills up WAY too quickly.

Excellent - thanks for clarifying. I'll have to give this a go

No, but there’s a workaround, hohohoho... use your 4 plugins and route the output to a bus, then you create a new track, make the input that bus that you previously routed and voilá, more four plug-in slots. In fact, ahem, I found out you can do this indefinitely, for as many plug-ins as your iPad can handle. You’re welcome! Enjoy!

  • P.S.: oh, and you can route the last bust track of the chain to a subgroup to access the BussPressor, buss limiter etc. or you can have each bus sending signal to one of up to six aux FXs... since Auria introduced buses, the possibilities are overwhelming.

  • Audioshare into auria used to work for me And then just stopped.

Yeah, same here. I’ve been using th files app since, which has resulted in a much more organized folder structure in Auria, for me, as I can control where the imported files are going.

Hey, thanks for that. Just came in really handy for track we are working on.

Would be great if Auria increased FX slots to 6 and made them drag and drop adjustable for order. Probably happen about the same time as the Apple Flying iPig hits the stores. :)

oh man, thank you so much! this is very helpful

Doesn’t Audioshare > open in > copy to Auria work? That was my workaround and it used to work. It then was a bit of a problem to find the actual file in Auria, but I’d usually managed to find it. Haven’t done this for a while.

Not anymore. It used to work like that always though. Some update broke it

@vpich - Ok! Thanks for your reply. Good to know. The here described Drag and Drop from Files is a handy way to do it now. Thanks @Fitz for describing it! I didn’t knew that.

  • Works great until the damn files app goes wonky, which it seems to do regularly. If import doesn't work right or gets stuck, it's not Auria, it's the files app. The only way I know of to get it back on track is a device restart.

  • I really liked how you tap and hold a midi file and with another hand bring up control center drag file to Auria and drop it directly tobtime line! Wow this is beautiful ! Gonna try Cubasis!

  • Didn’t work in Cubasis :( man hope Cubasis gets Files app support that would rock!

  • edited January 2018

So are you all successfully importing midi files (type1) into Auria?

  • Don’t know what type but they load up great.

  • Type 1 means multitrack midi going to different tracks
Type 0 is one track for all midi data (combining all channels into one track)
