So can these notes be changed for melodic output?

You can set custom note output for the snare, kick, t1, t2 etc etc

  • Can we get more ‘midi maps’? Did a Maschine map, other mapping can be useful.. and a way to ‘share’ between devices and with other users too..

    Peace.. Great app..

    Just for the record

    Very nice..

I'm tired of all those randomizers, and random patch generate buttons .. where is creativity ? If this trend will continue, we will get DAW with "randomize button" which will generate whole song ...

I strongly dislike this part of technology.. Music should be about creativity, about expressing own ideas and concepts, not about constantly pushing "random" button until i'm satisfied ..

thumbs down for each app with "randomize" button ...

Each to their own but I do like me a lazy way of generating a “ballpark” idea that I would never have dialled in and then refining it to my needs.

The smart randomisers are the best, giving selective control on aspects of the patch/sound.

Randomise for a whole DAW? Yeh sure, why not? If it sounds good it is good for me.

If anything you’re more likely to get something original using randomisers.

Maybe the creativity comes from combining these ideas into something musically cohesive?

I mean, it’s not compulsory to use the button, it’s only there as an option ...

  • For me it is like having a virtual collaborator.

Just wanted to say how i see it .. this remind me how guitarists and other non-electronic music musicias see electronic music..

"Nah... You just press button on synth/drum machine and it plays. That's not music.".

With all this rising "randomisation" this is becoming true. Looking forward for "generate instant hit" app, sooner or later it wil be here :-D You justs choose genre, length, number of "swag" in song - and done.

  • @dendy it is good to set yourself creative goals and challenges. You stick to your guns! My effort is to not accept random just as it gets spat out. Always try to tweak it a little for what I’m after. It just gives me a different starting point every time which is just what I need.

Good on you though. Appreciate your approach.

Sorry Bud.. One thing I have learnt in this UBER age is .. you can go hungry if you don’t have the ability to adapt.. I kinda like tech and it’s more than just pushing buttons.. I guess you don’t like Arps and Step Sequencers too ? Anyway the name of the app is Future Drummer..

Can we have midi export please?

Edit.. and Midi import will be nice too..

    Jamstix?

  • I'm interested in this one- for those that have it- has it become your go to drum machine? If not then why would this be? I have a slight concern that I may buy it- then drop it again after the novelty wears off for some reason.
How does it compare to Patterning?
This is not scientific but by now I would have expected many YouTube videos on the go- but there only a few- which may indicate a lack of excitement? Again- not a reliable barometer of form- but had there been 15 or 20+ I would probably have delved in.
It's just that it's not a cheapie- if it were only a fiver- I would have it already :)

    LOL - love it !

  • If they aren't already hidden away somewhere - any chance of some IAP style add-ons for Trance, Pry-Trance, Trip-Hop etc ?

3 cheers for both midi in and out!!!!
what we really need is a feature in the app where you can press a button and the app tells you if the audio you generate is 'real music' or not.

by the way does anyone know of any iOS app similar to this that allows you to import your own samples?

You guessing wrong, arps and step sequencers are great .. you also guessing wrong if you think i'm dinosaur stucked in past, actually exact opposite is true, im very technocratic oriented mind, i can't wait for driverless cars, superAI technology and lot other technological stuff which will come in near future ... But simply this one - replacing creativity with randomization - is something which i can't stand .. It's just my point of view, i think there is not need for attacking me just because i'm refusing following stream and have different opinion on some topic ..

It’s a very mild form of “attack” if it could have been deemed as such. It just seemed like another different opinion to me.

I get your angle but I think you may be too rigid in your perspective and you’re ruling out how selective randomisation can actually spark more creativity than by using more conventional workflows.

My view is that if it sounds good to you it is good, it doesn’t matter how you got there.

It especially doesn’t matter to the average listener, who has no idea.

It sort of reminds me of the people who said sampling was cheating back in the early days and then they ignored all the great music that came out of that.

Exactly this...since I removed my "I must create every sound and every pattern I use myself" shackles, I am making far more varied music and far quicker than ever before.

  • Wow this is one awesome! Drummer!!!❤️😌🙏👍🏼

  • I really really like this drum machine. Is extra fun to use and useful. Sending data to Ruismaker is pretty much the ultimate for me.

  • Midi out is not working for me. Is it a general problem?

Ruismaker in AUM...But I just tried again and now it is working...really curious. Maybe there is a right order to respect when starting each app. I will investigate. Thanks anyway

Couple of things to watch out for...

    Make sure in Future drummer....

    • In MIDI settings...Send Notes is on.
    • AUM is set as output for MIDI Out

    In AUM MIDI Routing

    • Send AUM Destination to Ruismaker

    In Ruismaker

    • Set GM Keymap to on (or alternatively set up a MIDI mapping in FD MIDI Settings for ruismaker and leave GM Keymap off)...Using GM Keymap is easier
  • Today im a bit unhappy with FD. I drive my yamaha montage with FD too and record with Auria pro. The songmode does not work properly. Sometimes it jumps over parts, sometimes it plays parts twice. with Funk drummer it is even worse. Any ideas?
