Carrousel (original song) - instrumental song with cavaquinho and Spanish guitar!

This is “Carrousel”, an odd tempo acoustic instrumental tune that may be perhaps in my next album. My filming gear is in order again, so I’m back with handsome me on screen! There’s no percussion, just a cavaquinho and a Spanish guitar (and also a synth here and there).

About the name of the song, “Carrousel” is the original French spelling, and this spelling is also accepted in English - but “carousel” is far more common. In fact, I intended the title to be the French word, and it’s was pure luck that it also can be written this way in english.

  • Awesome as always! Parabéns!
BTW, i'm looking to buy a Mandolin or an Uke Bass but was worried about my hand size not handling the strings well, but seeing you master the cavaquinho makes me hopeful (since your hands are big too lol) :D

  • Wonderful composition! Great chops, as usual!

  • Me likey mucho. I can never maintain that kind of perfect ostinato. Is the video an actual performance or is the music recorded first and then pantomimed? If the former... even more impressive!

Thank you so much! In fact, I think having big hands actually helps.

It’s the actual performance! My workflow is to film myself while tracking the instruments. Thank you so much!

  • This is fabulous! Well done!

  • That’s lovely. I like how you kept it simple, as well, it really works with the delicacy of the tune.
