  • FYI

"Native Instruments have talked a lot lately about reaching more customers. Here, they offer a fair amount of tools in a completely free, unpaid tier. You don’t even need an account to start poking around and previewing. But a free account nets you some selected free downloads.

US$9.99 a month gets you an all-you-can-eat diet of unlimited downloads of whatever you want. (This is the US-specific one for now; the free tier already works worldwide.) Even if you cancel and re-up, those downloads reappear… just in case you have a habit of not backing up and dropping beers on your hard drives.

  • Huh.. kind of lame. When I saw this thread I immediately thought they were doing a rent-to-own type thing with their Komplete series and I got excited. The reality is a bit of a letdown.

  • Search works pretty well. So many sample sites you don’t know if it’s loops or one shots or what. This one you can filter it to say one shot synths in the key of c and boom. I dunno if I’ll use it but it seems cool

  • I figured it was another subscription service, but the MIR technology is interesting. I think the Noiiz guys are doing the same thing,

The Atlas prototype/concept looks interesting for use with your existing libraries, too.

Seems pretty sweet to me. I cant try the demo but am curious how well the download to BM3 would work. If they let you sign up and cancel anytime I could see loading up for a couple months.

Hey guys here's my profile on the new NI Sounds site with my sounds. https://sounds.com/creator/129
    Hope you like them

  • They should seriously consider the rent-to-own model for their product line.. I'm currently paying $10 a month each for Serum and Sylenth and would gladly go $50 a month for Komplete 11..maybe even $100 for 11 Ultimate.

Heheh. Just cut back on your soda, coffee, beer or junk food consumption each month and you’ll get a boat load of samples to feast on. <3 B)

Just thought I would get some of the free collections... after downloading about five...

Now I feel like a naughty greedy boy.

“Dear Support: I am a pig abusing your goodwill beta feast...”

  • How did you find the “free” stuff. I haven’t spent too much time on the site yet.

  • This is better than Splice - you can download in the browser (or use workflow) to import on iOS. I hated how Splice required the desktop app. This will be a gamechanger for BM3 users like me.

I just signd up for the free one. even though I am in Canada it works and does not ask for payment info. There is free stuff under collections and on the main page. Under a collection you can hit ‘download all’ which gives you a zip you can pipe to Audioshare, If they don’t want people grabbing things in large chunks, well they better get rid of the zips. I am on fibre (half brag) so I can download a few gigs in a few seconds. If they stick to one sample at a time via a browser I am less likely to be naughty. But as it is, give a dog a bone NI.

  • Btw, these samples are awesome to me. Just lame to be locked out in the first hour for using the features they offer. Not quite all you can eat.

  • Hrmmm...i got the same error and didn’t even get to download anything. It’s probably a beta bug.

Looks like they sent an email... so confirming it may not have had this come up for me. They never actually said there would be one, heh, and who checks email anymore?

  • @AudioGus F-ckin hell mate, lol. The point isn’t to download everything at once. The point is to download things per-project, as-needed. That’s what I’ll be signing up at $9.99/month for once I get some extra spendy cash from my next gig. ;)

I gotta load up for the train! Data is expensive here. I only downloaded five (zip) files.

  • I have a support ticket open with them. I am sure it's just a Beta bug....

Hrmmm... @AudioGus...you should make a few tracks with the samples you downloaded and call the album NI Beta Bugs :)

This actually looks like the most promising of its type. Can’t say any of the others really appeal the way this does...

Expensive? Where are you located mate? :) Me, I pay $60/month for unlimited data on my phone.

Canada. It is notoriously bad. Every now and then a carrier comes out with a deal but then there are strings attached, limited time only etc etc

This is the first to appeal 100% to me too. Splice requires a PC/Mac app. Loopcloud (Loop Masters’ version) requires their PC/Mac app. Noiiz requires $199/year up front if you want unlimited downloads. sounds.com doesn’t need an app to tie you to a machine you don’t want to be tied to, and it doesn’t require an impossible-to-save-for-unless-you-run-a-successful-business-already price up front.

(I’m sorry @NoiizyDave , but it looks like sounds.com is the more accessible plan at the moment. You may have to rethink your subscription strategy with the suggestions I made in the other thread.)
