APP: MIDI Channel when they don't exist?

Argon.

What apps allow assignment of MIDI channels when they don't exist to an app?

Or any way to isolate Argon to only receive MIDI from 1 channel.

You can use AUM to filter out unwanted channels. If Argon can be hosted in AUM that could be a solution.

So you can do that for AU

Where do you do it for channels with IAA?

    I looked but no luck.

I think the issue is not IAA but IAA instruments/generators e.g. argon doesn’t get the midi menu where Alina strings does

Go to the AUM MIDI routing grid and tap one of the channels on the right side of the grid, you’ll then get a pop-up window similar to the screen capture below where you can filter out MIDI channels.

Right but that is for an AU, right?

Where is that menu for Argon then using IAA?

    That is my issue.

I appreciate your help and time nonetheless.

No, this works for any MIDI receiver on the grid (a.k.a. right side of the grid). If an app doesn’t show up on the MIDI grid inside AUM then you’d need to take additional steps to try to resolve the issue.

So this is from on the right settings.

Is this Argon issue then, I am not missing the numeral channels?

    That is what I thought.

That is what I was asking.

So, does MIDI flow fix have this??

Talking to myself at this point.

    Thanks

  • If you long press on Argon on that routing panel, it should open another panel where you set you channels...but it is pretty much the same if you hit the 3 rectangle stack next to the track in the mixer interface (same settings).

I will try it no doubt

If an IAA app is able to be loaded as an IAA instrument then you should get the ability to filter out the channels like AU apps, if it is an IAA generator, then you won’t. IAA MIDI implementations are not as consistent as they are for AU. The screenshot says Argon virtual rather than Argon @instrument ch# would lead me to believe you won’t be able to filter the channels AUM receives via Argon.

Another app like Midiflow or MidiFire might work if you send the MIDI to one of those apps and then Midiflow or MidiFire filters or remap MIDI to the desired channel and sends it out to Argon. This presumed Argon is able to be configured so that it doesn’t respond to the original MIDI source being filtered by Midiflow or MidiFire.
