I haven’t invested in Tonestack IAPs because I already had “workable” rigs with other apps by the time it came along (and sunk a fair amount of money into a couple of them), but this might just change everything for people like me* if the latency is nice and low. This will be the first AU complete guitar amp modeler/effects app, right? I’m not counting Tonebridge because I don’t want to.
If so, it will provide all the incentive I need to purchase the IAPs, so, good move there, Yonac!
This thread is still on my mind. Tonestack is incredible as a standalone iaa, but having multiple instances at once as au would be ideal. Would love to know if there has been any update on tonestack au progress.

If the AU thing actually happens(!) I’d say it will be FX cos that’s what they did with Galileo - but like with Galileo there’s a strong possibility they will release a new TS app altogether. Problem then is what about all the money folks have poured into motherlodes for TSv1.0... if that becomes a write-off that would also suck balls. Interesting to see how Yonac handles this.
Some kind of progress report would be helpful. At this stage I’d even take a maintenance release to fix the IAA zombie issue

To me it's a non brainer. Ive been actively using TS since release. I have all the inaps but bought the app during a sale. I love the package and to me it is the best bundle of amp sims and fx I'm prepared to use.
If they don't go crazy with the price I will buy the new AUV3 app outright with a smile on my face.

Just been on Yonac forum and spotted a reply from Yonac team about this, pasted below...
“No ETA. We want it to happen, but it's pretty complicated. First off, yes, retro-fitting AUv3 to an existing app is near impossible. We would have to build an entirely new app, which would take a pretty long time. We also need to figure out how it would be in an upgrade/new app. There's a LOT in ToneStack, and we don't want people who have invested in it to buy a whole new app, IAPs, etc. We need to figure out a road map there.
I can say definitely not in 2018. We have a few smaller projects we're working on right now.”
Why do devs say ETA when they have no idea when - best to keep quite and not hype - just saying

So I am one of the people who loaded up the IAPs in ToneStack Go rather than the original ToneStack. I’m happy to pay for a new app for AU (exciting!) but if you are honouring IAPs then pleeease let us restore the ToneStack Go IAPs as well! Thank you!
I don't read the devs comments as hype and find them straightforward.
The reason a dev would say something like this is to let users know that they have been listening and taking user wishes seriously.
As a user , I find it nice to learn that they are exploring the possibility and that it isn't imminent. Kind of the opposite of hype in my book.

Tonebridge is the only auv3 guitar sim I'm aware of atm. Pretty sweet. You can make all your own patches now as well. Tonebridge is ampkit rebundled into an auv3 do obviously is can be done. Wasn't even their own code some it seems possible although it's not a cut and paste job
I had a bad feeling Tonestack AU was going to be trouble for the Yonac guys.
Oh well, still hoping it happens at some point.
They should start over with a new design and not bolt AU onto an already complex and great performing App.
The issue of money would of course need to be considered if the App Store has a way to allow credit for IAP"s in another product.
This is going to happen a lot over the next few years. AUv3 adds a lot of new rules that IAA and AudioBus didn't demand from the developer.
These Plug-ins are like AC Power connections. You can buy a ower strip with 8 sockets but 8 hair dryers which fit into it will blow the Line's 15 Amp circuit. AU is like that and some of favorite Apps draw 10Amps for theres only 5 Amps left. I'm using US household electrical standards. IN Euroe or other areas of the world they might standardize on more or less current as the limit before your house wiring melts.
AU's are power sockets.

Really? I'm fully invested in ToneStack and just removed Tonebridge from my iPad. I may have to go recall it back to my iPad and give it another go... hopefully not at a significant cost in IAPs though.
TS is a midi powerhouse, from assigning each possible parameter to switching presets via PC/CC. I've been able to dial in some crazy sounds with it.
Tonbridge does sound good but doesnt seem massively customisable at first glance and being AU I doubt it is possible to change presets without reloading the whole host session. I guess I need to spend more time with it.
What is their business model anyway? Despite the obvious storefront look I haven't seen any buying icons.

Tonestack is my favorite. If they wanna make a whole new sounding amp sim that's AU I'd happily buy it.
Also tonebridge is 100% free. The guys who run ultimate tabs upkeep it and it's tied loosly into their guitar tab app which is subscription. I'm guessing their thinking is that people will pay for tabs (very good too) and then hop over into tonebridge to get the right sound while learning it
ToneBridge comes from the folks that run the Ultimate Guitar tab site which sells Pro memberships as a business model. I think the idea is ToneBridge brings guitar players that select specific songs they would like to play (or at least sound like from a Tone perspective). It might follow that they would like to see the Tab for that song and upgrade to have the Tab automated into a lesson.
So, we get a free Guitar Sim/Stompbox app and they hope to recruit new members for their Pro level of subscribed services.

Anyway, yes seems like a win win situation. Definitely a great app for peeps wanting AU and want a fairly straight forward sound. I have to admit that I got completely spoiled by TS and it totally clicks with me and all of the modules within do exactly what I expect them to. Albeit I don’t use TS for my guitar because I replaced it with Zoom G3Xn.
Amp kit was my go to before TS came out and I did think it sounded good. The sound of TB is sure very clean.
Tonebridge is configurable. And if you’re like I assume all of us are...you’re going to go into the main app and tweak the basic sounds you like into your own presets. The advantage Tonebridge presents is not so much in its unique sound (though I personally don’t find it any less “plastic” sounding than ToneStack), but in its ability to leapfrog a lot of tinkering to find a basic amp sound you want to make your own. It doesn’t sound anywhere near as good as the amp modeled sounds you can get out of Bias, but again, for me it’s about speed. Tonebridge gets me there, and it’s AU.
Edit; I feel obligated to add that I’m a whore. I have no allegiances to any app. There was a time I loved ToneStack. If that day comes again, I won’t mind. But...it’s with a heavy heart that I have to admit that there isn’t an amp sim out there that can match a tube IRL. Ugh, and that feels blasphemous to say, but...it’s just the way it is

I agree with your statement regarding real vs. sim guitar gear.
I always suspected it is the analog vs. digital aspect that makes real gear better.
It’s like, with real gear you are playing with live electricity, with sims you are just playing with numbers.
And the latency in sims, no matter how short or small, causes a disconnect or break in the electromagnetic feedback loop that gets created with a real amp/guitar setup.

I don’t know about all of those things you guys are talking about. Currently my favourite amp of all is Vox VT20 and I’ve played a couple of real tube amps in my life.
All I can say is that when I play my bass through an amp and I can feel the room tremble with me inside of it, I couldn’t care less about tubes or not.
Latency...yes, that’s definitely something I do not like but it just comes with the territory I guess.
