Entering the modern era of midi controllers, looking for advice.
I've been looking around, trying to decide on an ideal midi controller setup , to upgrade from the Yamaha P60 I've had for over 16 years ., which is the only controller I've ever had or used & is starting to show its age. I've considered everything from Linnstrument, Roli Rise, Push 1 or 2, Maschine .
I went ahead and ordered a new Komplete Kontrol s61 keyboard today , but I'm still intrigued by the pad based controllers, & thinking about getting one to supplement the KB -- hopefully one that will fully integrate with Reason 10 since the KB doesn't.
Push 1 w/ retouchControl's Pusher script for Reason integration, is currently the highest on my list - could get it for around $200 on ebay ... Push 2 was tempting me as well, but I don't think the high res screen is worth the higher price, for my needs-- so long as the workflow is the same & just as efficient.
I've heard it's a terrible idea to buy a used Maschine, since it's supposedly useless if the serial has been registered to someone else and not transferred. -- I just want to reaffirm that Push 1 or 2 doesn't suffer from the same restrictions re: license registration?
Anyway, I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with the controllers I mentioned, or others I may not know about. Any thoughts, suggestions or advice will be much appreciated.
