## AI in combination with big data is the next big thing!
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/chord-tracker-us/id992502589
For free! As a company: Just create apps and tools which generate big amounts of personal data - and the outcome will be great for your profits and for our society.
(if you ask me: i don't recommend tools like this even if i like parts of the functionality)
"Yamaha Corporation of America and/or its subsidiaries" ... "By using this Software, you are consenting to the terms" ... "Yamaha may revise this terms from time to time" ... "We collect and store statistic data for example:
- iOS device and its version
- access country
- date and time of each user request
- all available Metadata by each user
- chords created by using this software
- all other information how you interact with this software
- this software use cookies to track you and your interactions
Yamaha and its subsidaries will share these data to learn as much as they can and to improve the economic situation of Yamaha and its subsidaries. They can do with the obtained data whatever they want - for example looking for illegal downloads etc., using your compositions - you have consented to all of these purposes. They will share the data with the goverment, if the goverment needs it on the basis of laws, subpoenas, court orders or "other legal process".
Final word:
This is the future. Yamaha, yeah!

Shrug. Everyone should just state that they watch porn every so often. There, I’ve solved Big Brother paranoia. As a corollary, don’t do crimes.
We have to consider that almost all (!!) private companies share these "Big Brother paranoia" and dont allow their employees to use common Cloud Services, common search engines, Facebook or tools like "chord tracker", which tracks every aspect of its usage and shares it with unknown third party companies.
Oh, and these common company policies have nothing (!) to do with "crimes". As a regularly porn user: you are absolutely sure you never watched, downloaded or streamed an actress below 18 years old? You never have downloaded or streamed forbitten content like music or sports, where the right owners don't like your usage? You really enjoy knowing your employer knows your porn preferences (search words for example) and such?
OK. Really great deal for you, i suppose. You are living a live without any (!) concern about big data and/or your privacy. You are a winner - just like the owner of big data.
I don’t know the details, but aren’t all iOS apps supposed to go through some hardcore screening process by Apple to prevent security risks? Seems like that gets suggested as a reason why iOS is better than Android. Possibly just iOS hype?
Mainly hype. The truth is: There is some screening. Now, in the age of AI hype, Apple offers AI kits and even changes processor design (!) to help app developer the use of AI and data analytics.
No Apple screening prevents Whatsapp or Facebook apps to act as we know it (for example: getting all of your location data for every time, if you use standard settings). As a part of a deal with the NSA (and other inteligence services) Apple has created (with Sierra and following MacOS) a new iCloud function which standard (!!) setting transfers all of your data within documents and desktop to the iCloud. This directly translates into: NSA (etc.) can read all of this data...
Translate it into: Not everything is fine in Apple land.
On the other hand, for its own apps Apple offers a good privacy policy, which is very uncommon for an US company. Beside the hidden NSA deal Apple actively don't share user data with third party vendors. Apple has recently even taken some steps to improve the privacy of Safari. I wouldn't consider Apple as a Big Data company which tries to fool you.
(this does not mean your privacy is "safe" using Apple devices - it means you have more and better chances to manage your privacy - and really, please don't be angry with me, we all have to think about this)
P.S.
Using an Android device is the exact opposite of privacy - regardless (!) of your settings. Even when you completely disable the microphone in the settings, this disabling gets ignored (!) without any information to you (!) and the microphone data can be used (and get used!!) - so that Google and third party apps can get all the information they think it would be helpful/funny to have them. Really. Oh, and almost no one is concerned about this. Quite interesting times we are living in.
That's all pretty standard stuff. Same sort of stuff is captured on most every web page you visit. They even advise you not to enter personal data into the music metadata. The actual, unedited bit from the policy:
I like that you care about this stuff. I donate to the EFF. I use Firefox. I use Duck Duck Go. This is kind of sensationalizing it though. As far as I can tell, they don't really have enough info about you to build any sort of user-profile so it's not really a big deal to me. Unlike facebook, amazon, google, the fucking ad networks, etc. I had to watch a 15sec Sweetwater video ad the other day before playing an online game and the video was made entirely of products I had previously viewed on Sweetwater.
Yamaha can bug my home, tap my phone and put a tracking device on me if they would only update the AN 2015 synth book app. Would be great if we could assign parameters to the orb thing. Also the midi is very flaky, losing connection often.
