  • Yeah, I really liked mine when I got it and wanted to shout about how great it was here, but I found some niggles.

The XY Pad values are quite jumpy, especially when removing fingers. Also a couple of the sliders below the XY Pad seem to change values of the neighbouring controls too sometimes.

Could be just my unit, however I believe I read a few similar reports elsewhere.

Definitely worth it at $70 though.

The pads are nice. Have aftertouch as you mentioned and 5x5 is great to set up pentatonic scales for the pads.

The best feature though is that it’s all editable on the unit with the click wheel. No computer needed.

  • Wow. That's come waaay down in price. Makes me nervous, especially after the report from SpookyZoo.

  • I’m noticing problems keeping mapping’s consistent in BM3. The midi mapping option for macros sees each of the encoders, but they work inconsistently. This might be going back.

  • Pity about the niggles but wow aftetouch on pads sounds great. Having said that my romanticism fell flat on its face with Quneo so I think I’m good.

  • I decided to keep mine. The pads are really nice. Softer than the Launchpad and Circuit. Very playable for key type instruments. Don’t do much finger drumming myself so can’t comment there.

I got mine reasonably cheap too, around £50, so even with the couple of niggles I felt it was nice enough to keep.

Maybe worth checking out some reviews elsewhere, not too much info online, but some scattered about.

  • Hi

I assume they only ship to US or?

    It really looks amazingly cheap!

  • There's a Sam Ash brick and mortar near my house and I see these on the clearance table from time to time, usually right around $70. Maybe I'll give one a shot the next time one appears on the table.

  • £125 in the uk

  • €175 (US$214) over here. $70 sounds like a sweet deal.

    Just dug mine out again.

Had to use the powered CCK to use the device with iPad. I now remember this being hit and miss.

Yeah, the XY Pad is definitely jumpy, especially when lifting fingers.

Just the lowest left knob had the niggle of changing the parameter assigned to the slider next to it, although this settled down after a few minutes in tonight’s test and I couldn’t get it to repeat the bug after.

Another ‘con’ is that although there is plenty of control on the device, and the pads are very playable, it’s a little cramped and that does hinder ‘playing’ the pads sometimes.

Only, Notes or CC’s for the pads.

I’m mainly using the X-Station to control everything lately so these other devices have taken a backseat.

Could be a useful controller for Dabbling with Gadget.

I like the conspiracy, it’s flawed but fun, however I probably wouldn’t recommend it at much higher than the $70 price tag of the OP’s link.
