    That's great to hear!

Nonsequitur, but Beathawk went free for three days last September. No harm done. Loving this app more all the time.

    +1

  • Hmm, yeah I'm finding the AU does go out of sync pretty quick, anyone else find the same?

  • Update released.

This has been fixed, I can even play instruments with Navichord or midiflow keyboard at 64 buffers without any audio clicks.
Midi step editor is perfect too, no more crazy movements while extending notes lengths.
Song mode had some issues with ghost notes, it has been fixed too.

New bug appears with last update with AU broken, but sure it will be fixed. Their support have answered me they’re at winter namm and will give answer a bit later.

iPhone version is really stable now. For those who have issues with AU metronome etc, IAA works perfectly with big screen, only thing that misses is AU saving. This is not that different than using Xequence for exemple. There are lot of IAA apps I use all the time like Loopy, Blocs wave, Figure, not such an issue. To me where I truly want AU is for Fx’s, prefer them for synths, for other apps I like IAA for full screen UI on iPhone.

@Janosax Not yet ... I have 8 plus and still get pops ... 64 no way for me .. at 512 is sort of ok for me .. fewer clicks and pops .. m talking about navichord for now

    ...see below.

  • I was having no luck with the update - my use case being BH as AU in Beatmaker 3.

UNTIL I discovered what was causing the terrible noise / feedback in BM3: with the BH AU midi I needed to disable it in the BM3 midi input settings. Now everything is back to normal. Phew!

    Works fine here.
Have you tried turning off BHs own metronome in the settings?
I had feedback when record enabled, bypassing metronome solved it.

I’ve tested AU in iPhone 7 Plus and have also some issues. UI in song mode is altered and hard to read, and worst there is a lag while playing quickly pads in recording mode. On IPhone IAA is stable and looks much bigger on screen. It has midi out too, only thing that miss is state saving, you have to load project, but it’s not that worse than using ReWire Ableton/Reason, I’ve done that many years and using at same time state saved Vst’s. BeatHawk has super fast workflow sequencer, it’s nice to use in AUM, but they have to fix AU to make it a better app. IAA is the way to go while waiting for that.

Thanks for the suggestion - actually I found the problem halfway through my original post, but it was posted accidentally. The fix was to turn off BH as midi input in Beatmaker 3. I was searching for something like that (disable AU midi out) in BH but didn’t find it.

In the Beathawk AU preferences, you cannot open the “audio/midi settings” where you would expect to have a “disable AU midi output”. This could be a feature request for UVI for the next update.

  • Does anybody have the same issue like me:in the browser the new „Church Organ“ has no Logo,itˋ s just an empty
black space.Remove and redownload did not help.Itˋs not a real problem but irritating.

I’m seein the same thing. On the main screen too.

I’m still waiting for that pack to show up in the browser for me. Tried everything except reinstall (really dont want to have to download all my packs, again)

Why not use Ableton Link with Reason and Ableton instead of Rewire? The both do have Ableton Link...

Still need rewire to process/record Reason in Live, and ReWire has flawless transport and follow song position.

  • Nice BeatHawk update arrives with icloud import for AU :)

    What does that do then?

  • The update also brings the "option to disable MIDI Output within AUv3"!

I am unsure of where to find this option - should it be in Preferences... > MIDI/Audio tab > Audio/Midi Preferences [OPEN] > , because tapping the [OPEN] button doesn't do anything (as was the case in previous versions). Directly in the MIDI/Audio tab there is a "Send Omni On Pads" under "MIDI". What does this do?

In the standalone version under "Audio/MIDI Preferences..." there is an option to set "MIDI Output" to <>, but like I said I can't access this setting from the AUv3 version.

You can now import samples directly in the AU from the Files app. Good news because it means other AUs can do the same. Rather than always having to access the main app first. :)

I would really like to know how they did that. It used to be impossible, so apparently Apple fixed something. :)

  • Anyone using BeatHawk with BM3? I deleted BeatHawk because it always lost what sound you had saved it on whilst in BM3. Can anyone confirm if this is still the case?

Yes, very handy and it's going to greatly improve workflow for AU samplers. I hope they will reveal the method to everyone

You don’t lose the sound but you have to ensure it’s on keys mode every time you reopen a project.

At least that’s better. Last time I was using it, not only would it switch from keys mode, the sound or even the set of sounds would change too!

Found the setting and it seems to be working - no midi feedback loop in BM3 or need to disable midi input in BM3 for each instance anymore!

  • I’ve noted that settings must be made when only one AU instance is loaded, with several instances they all crash. Everything else seems to works ok.

How is AU GUI on iPad? On iPhone lines and others graphics elements are not well displayed. I asked UVI for a fix several months ago, it’s still there so I’ve sent them another mail.

Thank goodness! That feedback loop was driving me crazy. And having to go to MIDI settings each time loading BH as an AU was tedious, too. Props to UVI for addressing issues reported to support.

I’m still hoping they will go further in beathawks development. Put a mixer in with some au fx and possibly add Au instrument access onto the pads. Beathawk can be greater if they would see that it can be done.

The easiest app to get something going. So simple at its core that you can really dig deep and make something productive in it. I would really focus on beathawk over bm3 if it added au capabilities into it.

Unfortunately it's not possible to host AUs inside an AU. So that's not going to fly. :)
