    A few thoughts.
A wahwah is a low or bandpass

No wah wah that I know of is is a low pass filter. Only a bandpass.

In the beginning you wiggle a peak filter and talk about how filters empathizes and reduce frequencies - you are not doing it here, you are just boosting frequencies

You meant "emphasize." In this context, it means the same as boost.

You never say resonance( or did I miss it?), Q is moog lingo and not used very often.

What? Q is not Moog lingo. It's used for every parametric EQ that I've ever seen.

True - simply trying to use an example of a common physical device you may have heard of.

This is true - more a simple illustration of the concept than a comprehensive overview.

I breeze past a ton of info here - this video was made to be under 10 minutes, so I wasn't able to be as detailed as I could've been. Q is parametric EQ lingo, so it's definitely something you'd run into in production if not on a synth.

You never tell how cutoff and resonance work together = boosting the freq at cutoff point if it’s not notch
Maybe filtering a chord or a drumloop makes a better example for hearing what is going on.

The Bandpass and Notch filtering are tougher to hear, but again this is an introduction rather than a deep dive.

I think I would show it of with an envelope,
Usually ppl don’t understand how filterenvelope amount and cutoff work together.

Don’t want to be overcritical but this stuff needs a little perpetration that takes a lot of time. Imagine you know nothing and you just see this ...

Thanks for the pointers - I'm still getting my feet under me here so I'll be more practiced as time goes on. I don't feel like there's any mis-information in the video, but I do feel like there's always more that can be said.

Feel free to drop some comments on YouTube and I can address them there directly!

  • @Max23 I just edited the notes on YouTube to address some of your concerns. Thanks again for the feedback - I'll get better at these as I do more of them.

  • This is fantastic, @dvlmusic! Awesome. A fresh voice.

I am looking forward to more!

I’ll watch your vid momentarily, but that Civ VI icon on your home screen got me wondering...is it worth the $60 cost on iPad?

It was worth the $30 I paid for it when it came out, that's for sure.

You either love Civ or you hate it. I own Civilization Revolution & Civ Rev 2 for iOS and Civ Rev for Xbox 360, so clearly I'm a fan. If you love it, then yes it's worth it, mainly because it's the full game as you'd get it on a desktop.
