The Behringer UMC404HD is top of my list at the moment.

Can I record to DAW through this device from my Ipad?

In Amazon after the product description there’s a long list of questions. Someone asked if they could use it with their iPad and the answer was no. It was the 404. Is that right?
That would be too bad. Looks interesting.

Yeah, Some interfaces transmitting a signal from ipad to PC and some don't.

I'm thinking are there any differences between routing signal out from ipad by usb/lightning and minijack headphone out?

I have the behringer 404 .. i I haven't tried iPad into PC daw but the behringer works fine with external audio into iPad so I see no reason why it shouldn't. !? I'll try it out and let you know.

I’m not going to use it with my PC so if it’s compatible with the iPad, I’m in.
    Thanks for that.

Might be worth checking if it is class compliant or it requires drivers.

The user guide says class compliant with mac but drivers needed for Windows.

  • As far as I know all their USB interfaces are class-compliant, therefore should work on iOS. As for Win, as it has no built in low latency driver it requires one. Knowing Behringer I can imagine it's a simple repackage of ASIO4ALL.

  • Another vote for the AG-06, really happy with performance and features and price. It works flawlessly on iOS and windows 10 here. USB powered so you can use a battery pack and the effects are not bad at all. Shame we can't edit them on iOS but maybe that will happen someday?
