  • NAMM special?

  • I am interested in this but am suspicious that no demo that I have seen show a “long glide” pitch bend across multiple keys? Anyone know if it supports this.

  • I was hoping for a small grid overlay a la Linnstrument but no dice. The MPC style overlay doesn't cut the mustard when it comes to approximating stringed instruments. I'm sure it'll get worked out in time with the overlay creator app but it's early days for this small company. Investing in them early might pay off though. Very cool concept.

  • A “guitar string” interface similar to Geoshred would be a nice addition too.

  • Looks interesting, and I noticed yesterday the MMA has officially approved the MPE standard, though haven’t been able read it as it’s not yet posted on their site - hopefully will lead to bunch more hardware/software implementations going forward.

I talked to them about that its coming

  • Does anyone here actually own this? I saw them at NAMM and actually got to demo it briefly on my own iPad. I got to play Alchemy within GB with their keyboard overlay and there was almost no latency over Bluetooth when the device was a few inches away from my iPad. I'll admit, the form factor and weight attracted me. I wish they sold the overlays in bundles, $35 each plus $300 for the unit starts to add up if you want a few of them. Good to hear there's a guitar overlay coming @Shazamm I didn't think to ask them about that. Anyway, just wondering if anyone owns one of these. Or can someone recommend another slim portable bluetooth MIDI controller? While the modularity is really cool, I think my main desire is size and portability.

I just received mine last night. So far.... it’s amazing. I had a Roli light pad before this. There are similarities and differences. I’m still trying to figure out how to set everything up, so that I can press a key, and slide it horizontal while pulling the pitch up or down without triggering other keys( i’m sure you can, I’m just missing something)
The setup is very simple, yet deep. I love being able to assign anything to almost any key and setup different versions of the keyboard layout, and easily recalling. this was a major issue with my Roli lightpad. while the pad was nice. assigning cc or anything to the pad was very time consuming.
My favorite thing so far is the ability to use very very light pressure to play with. most drum pads or Roli other or midi controllers have variable velocity , however it always takes a significant amount of pressure to trigger even a low velocity sample. Not on this thing. It picks up everything. I played a piano vst through it, and it was magical. I actually enjoy it more than playing a real piano.
I would say if your looking for an Mpe controller keyboard. this is definatly it. I can wait to try some sound design stuff with this. I am just now digging in, and can’t wait to see how far I can go with it.
    Overall, it’s very inspiring!

I saw these guys too. I walked into their area accidentally because they were part of the UVI booth and I was looking for BeatHawk haha. I wish this had Bluetooth, it's also a little thicker and longer than the Morph. But what's cool about it is that you can combine multiple overlays at the same time which the Morph cannot do.

    dope to here

just got an email back from Sensel. they horizontal pitch slide with option to turn note triggering off, is on its way in an update. Also, midi velocity curves ( for those who want to adjust the sensitivity of the controller) are also on the way soon in future updates. They seem to be very helpful, and open to making this controller one that is perfect for musicians. Also I recommended a different color on those drums pads, because the yellow is hard to look at, that’s the only reason i didn’t buy that overlay. maybe i’ll get one if they change it to greta or white or more subtle colors lol.

  • @eross I really appreciate your feedback, nothing like getting real hands on experience. I thought I hadn’t seen a horizontal pich slide - but good to know it’s coming. Are the settings controllable from the iPad rather than a computer?

they don’t have a configuration app currently for ios. (i hope they consider making one) But the nice thing is anytime you configure you send/ save it to the that info to the Morph.

I don't see any benefit over the Linnstrument other than the price.

Different overlays? Hit it with drum sticks?

I see the overlays as a gimmick that actually is a negative in the long run. It would be more efficient to learn to play whatever it is you need to play on a single surface, instead of having to learn a new instrument each time.

Different tools for different jobs in my estimation. I love my Linnstrument but I'd get the sensel for everything I can't do with the LS.

  • MPE is now adopted by MIDI

  • Anyone using this? I'm on the fence on buying it but it's kind of expensive.
    Looks solid though

don’t hesitate just buy it.It seemed expensive e to me at first too, but it’s awesome! I recommend getting keyboard and mpc template. I love mine

I also bought MPC and Keys and like them very much! Much better than Korg nanokey studio. Great gadget. They deliver from Rotterdam to buyers from Europe. So it’s fast and no additional taxes.

  • Cool. I was thinking of the same combo. I have a Korg too. Love it. And it was cheap. Bought it second hand but new. The guy didn’t even knew what he was selling.

I’ll bite the bullet then. I wish the keys had some knobs too though

  • I want to get the premiere pro skin and use it with lumafusion
