Creative Games Exercises: iOS Music Making
For me, I do this little activity and have a ball while honing in on my multi app on the fly creativity.
I open:
Figure
iKaosiilator
Elastic Drums
- DJDJ
I basically envision I am live on a stage or in a booth and do a live jam, live mixing between back and forth, messing with and mixing beats from Figure to melody Kaos then some bass figure a hat loop on the DJ app along with a vocal sample looping and then just power through making up stuff as a I go.
Many times I end up with ideas that I later do things with .
Another way I do this same variation slightly different is with the Mixvibes apps.
They have a great DJ app and then their Launchpad type app that you can play hits on.
Well I like jamming with those 2 back and forth.
I did come to realize doing this that screen recording does not switch between apps while doing this as far as audio and some other bugs. That sucks.
I thought I would share some creative drills and games I use for finger coordination and creative reasons.
Piece!

ReadRhythm is a great little app for practicing with, especially when learning less common time signatures etc. Gets updated quite regularly and the visual display is great for letting you know if you are ahead of or behind the beat.
I will check it
I find it very useful to have on the iPhone, I had been using it for 5-10 minutes per day. Helps with timing and getting used to odd time signatures which I have found daunting in the past. Not as much fun as your technique @RUST( i )K but I don't see it mentioned here very often.
Would be nice to hear of other apps which can help improve playing techniques, basic theory etc etc
To do screen recordings with multiple apps you still have to use the Quicktime method via the desktop.
Seconding Read Rhythm. Very solid app. Tenuto is good for theory rudiments, sight reading, etc.
There are also some good apps for improving your ear/singing voice. I'll dig them out when I get home.
That's lame right.
Fortunately, not that important to me.....LOL
