Using BM3 with Cubasis - Help!
I have some midi drums on a Cubasis track and I’m trying to trigger sounds in BM3. I can do this easily with Gadget but I’m struggling with BM3.
Any experts here?
I’ve tried assigning BM3 pads to the same midi notes as the Cubasis ones.
I’ve set midi channels - ins and outs.
Nothing communicating!
I’m not sure that the midi settings in BM3 are right.
I’m using Audiobus 2 as the audio bridge between BM3 and Cubasis.

Hello DefRobot,
I run into the same question, you have to map every BM3 drumsound pad to the according midi note coming from Cubasis in the BM3 settings Midi Focus Action editor.
Connect BM3 via Audiobus to Cubasis and it should run fine.
Set that BM3 pad to the according pad note in pad channel settings doesnˋt work for me.
Hope that helps, greetings.
Thanks! I’ll give this a try. I hadn’t found the focus actions editor. I’m a bit confused with it all at the moment!
Actually thats just for focusing, which will work in this basic instance, but normally you would be better put mapping the samples to the correct key in Beatmaker and setting the correct MIDI input.
Then if you add extra banks in Beatmaker that you wish to trigger in Cubasis, you have no problems with focusing.
(Focus actions will only trigger the bank that is in focus)
Focus actions should be avoided unless you specifically want to control what is in focus.
All great help, thanks.
I’ve managed to get it triggering samples now. Just need to get my head round the rest of BM3!
Worth noting is that Pad 1 in BM3 responds to midi-note 0.
(This is needed in order to accommodate 128 pads in a bank).
There is no way to trigger midi-note 0 in Cubasis!?
(I do not know the reason why the @LFS and the Cubasis team limited the available note-range in Cubasis).
The lowest note Cubasis can trigger is C0 that corresponds to Pad 25 in BM3...
