MidiBand 3.1 One Man Band Arranger Workstation App..Lives on! IOS 11.2.5

Hi Guys!
Well, just wanted to share this with you all, that I don’t know what happened with this latest IOS update, or maybe that my iPad 2017 has a little more cpu juice, don’t know, but MidiBand 3.1 is working like a charm!

I was able to tweak a style that i found on the internet, and completely used it with Navichord, AUM, and SampleTank as one would with an Arranger Synth Workstation. I even made a video to kind of show what can be done. Of course it’s no where as pro video as Haq’s or Doug’s but it shows the power of MidiBand.

I have the style and can share it if you guys want it. I didn’t go into detail on how to setup SampleTank but i can do that another time. Navichord, is amazing too for controlling MidiBand.

Thanks guys!

  • Thanks MM4C. Very interested in this.

I got AAccompanist for this but found the user interface a little confusing as it is accordian based. MIDI band looks like the better choice.

  • Thanks guys! I wish I could explain during the video but recorded it during my lunch break. But there are hundreds of free styles on the web. You can use these to jumpstart your creative flow. Just takes a little time to tweak but it’s so much fun to play along with a virtual band.

  • The Roland SoundCanvas app is an ideal soundmodule-partner for Midiband 3.1. It works (after selecting the SoundCanvas as midi-out target in Midiband) "out of the box", because the SoundCanvas automatically sets the (GM midi) instruments from the program changes in the choosen style!
You find a couple of free Yamaha style-sets here: http://www.a-mc.biz/makemusic/2014/09/24/free-yamaha-styles-pack-yamaha-psr-arrangers/ (see the Midiband help for instructions about how to import them).
Thank you @MusicMan4Christ for the heads up.

  • Yeah, thanks for the link!

I love RSC it works great! For making quick realtime backing tracks this is amazing! You can even export the entire recording exactly as you did it in realtime, as a midi file to import into Cubasis.

  • Thanks bro!
You was just thinking to increase realism of the instruments in the backing band one can substitute the Bass with like iFretless and the drums With Drumperfect Pro, the have those hosted in Auria Pro or Cubasis as individuals drum tracks and add all sorts of effects, or even record the midi output. So much one can do with midi only and turn it to audio later.

    Great job!

  • I’m recycling old laptops into monofunction machines and one of them is going to host this
    https://www.varranger.com/

I will try to keep you posted. ATM lots of works repairing and reinstalling these old machinas!

  • Midiband was and is totally useless for me.. the navigation arrow itself are not working for me on my iPhone 8plus ...as good as the app is suggested to be .. the interface is really primitive and clunky

  • The UI is really ok as far as simplistic look, which uses I guess less resources but what OS are you on?
I’m using latest on IPhone SE and iPad 2017 9.7”

That’s kinda expensive at 350 euros!

  • It is able to do a pretty good extraction of styles from a midi file, but that is only usable within the Midiband app. I wish it could save it as a Style file for independent use on a compatible keyboard.

  • Are you using latest Midiband app?

    MidiBand by Kateryna Sharayeva https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/midiband/id682735484?mt=8

No the free one. If you could do a short vid I might help. Arrows work perfectly on my iPhone and iPad.
